  1. Again... wheat beer is not lager..

  3. I would have thought that if driveways are laid out sensibly (i.e. neighbouring houses have directly adjacent driveways) then it should still be possible to build driveways while still allowing some on-street parking. You might even have a net gain in available space. When people want to use electric cars in years to come, it's going to become a lot more common...

Going for ones labelled "summer", "golden", "hoppy", etc does seem to filter out the worst of them though.

  6. I think they're going to have to further cut the services to have any hope of running them on time. Too many trains on too little track. As soon as one train is delayed 2 minutes, everything is screwed.
  7. I think one of the reasons I've got on with the whole "craft" beer thing is that the American style ales are a lot more flavoursome than most lagers, but still keg (i.e. chilled and carbonated) so just as refreshing as a lager. I'd probably choose a light real ale over a crap generic lager.
  8. I don't really like Camden hells at all (their pale ale is acceptable... just). Brooklyn and Sam Adams are nice. Failing that a good German or Czech pils. And Brick Brewery do a pretty reasonable pilsner.
  9. Weekdays - it's mainly due to work at London Bridge, they used to be OK. Weekends - no service on Sunday (sometimes the whole weekend) has been commonplace for as long as I can remember
  10. Fosters, Stella, Guiness, John Smiths, and Strongbow. Babycham or Liebfraumilch for the ladies.
  11. They look fine to me... a damn sight better than the ad-hoc collection of decrepit buildings and portacabins my school was comprised of.
  12. And a proper Jukebox, four songs for ?1. None of this iPhone app nonsense.
  13. As SJ says... it's not a classic, but it is not poor by any means. There is some interesting (but not wanky) guitar stuff on there.
  14. El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > that (and tin machine) made my attitudes somewhat ambivalent As in you liked or disliked Tin Machine? I think the first album is actually rather good... maybe even a "must listen" for aspiring rock guitarists..
  15. Aha! I was actually wondering whether you'd walked along the Ravensbourne River...
  16. I think I already knew about Bowie from the Now Thats What I Call Music LPs! But I was a bit too young to appreciate how embarrassing that song really is.

  18. This is cracking.. Dinosaur Jr ft Del the Funky Homosapien
  19. If that house was bought for 500K in 2012, it must have been in one hell of a terrible state! I remember looking at houses at around the same time, it was impossible to get something in acceptable condition in a convenient location for under 600.

  21. ?7? At those prices he probably can't afford to do it for free!
  22. They look OK... you can always redecorate you know! Space is the main thing for most people, I reckon.
  23. Every time we get a thread about stupid cyclists, the militant cyclist brigade chip in with "but what about bad drivers? They're worse!" Don't sink to their level, salsaboy...
  24. I've been caught there in a similar scenario. Traffic was moving steadily (albeit slowly), and suddenly stopped - maybe due to someone abruptly cutting into the lane - and then the lights changed. But the way I see it, I made a judgement not to wait outside the box (IMO if you drive defensively in London, other drivers will take advantage and you'll never get anywhere). It was a judgement that didn't pay off... so unfortunately it's a fair cop.
