The post actually said "heavily pregnant mum-to-be". So clearly should not be pushing full bins around! willow Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > they are not your bins; they belong to the council so does it matter which bin you get back? Yeah it matters, when you've spent time cleaning your own one, only to be given someone else's stinking filthy bin in return!

  3. Recently returned from holiday to find ours exceptionally neatly lined up in the front garden. Christmas is nearly here...
  4. Our baby has jetlag. Just wants to sleep in the afternoon, and keeps waking up at night. It sucks.
  5. Yeah, that would blow it right off!
  6. Yeah... gotta wear gloves when using the expanding foam!!
  7. If you ingest bodily fluids following certain activities, does that break your veggie oath?
  8. And don't forget the Eccles cake's shortcrust cousin, the Chorley cake...
  9. The brownies from The General Store (Peckham) are good! Thick/rich/gooey rather than crusty/cakey.
  10. Yeah, I like Four Quarters a lot. Even if you don't want to play games, it's a good option if you fancy somewhere scuzzy instead of the smartly-refurbed, family-friendly bars of ED.

I get the impression that things were going just fine for Southerden, they just decided to expand into a larger shop in a higher profile area - as well as growing the production/wholesale side of things. Gutted to lose one of the best patisseries in London, but the Tapas bar sounds great too.
  12. I prefer puff pastry every time. I also prefer Portuguese style (puff) custard tarts to the dull domestic variety!
  13. And this person never wants to eat again? They really will be hungry then!!
  14. Yeah I think Jah was a bit harsh... most of us know what it's like to be intimidated or scared by someone. And it's not always easy to summon the courage to confront someone who's out of order.

  16. If you need delivery rather than takeaway... try the twice-cooked pork from Wulli Wulli.
  17. A new Tapas bar is opening in the old Southerden premises on choumert Rd.
  18. If the sushi (confusingly under the "Tsunami Menu" section) is for two pieces, the price is not too outrageous. But if it's only one piece, then it's way too expensive. Don't really think it's fair to compare it to the price of sushi in Japan though.
  19. I'd go for the black bonnet you were offered. You could pretend it's carbon fibre... you know, keep the weight down for performance.
  20. Would be a nice idea. If they stopped cancelling the trains every other Sunday!
  21. Cask beers are priced OK, but many of their keg beers are really pricey. They need to sort out the balance and have a more affordable range. Its not too late....
  22. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Ivy House is proof perfect that location > doesn't have to matter. Last time I went there (a Saturday night) it was pretty dead. Location does matter... that's not to say places can't survive off the beaten track, but it does make a big difference.
  23. TBH loads of areas in London are improving in similar ways... doesn't make it the 'new' anything, or the next big deal thing. Just a consequence of young-ish people with good jobs being priced out of other areas.
