  1. Carrying a knife without good reason is already illegal, isn't it? Throwing away the key is obviously disproportionate, but I'd be interested to know what the policy/likely outcome is when a kid gets caught with a knife...
  2. Wonder what road singalto lives on...
  3. The high street location isn't particularly conventional, but surely a new crossing plus a lolli-person for a couple of hours a day should solve the safety issue? Yes it is a busy road, but vehicles don't travel as fast as they do on Peckham Rye for instance..
  4. Best put on your tin foil hat next time you have to visit your branch.
  5. Actually 2% is about average at the moment. Higher rates are sometimes applied in supposedly higher risk situations. Over 4% sounds absurd.
  6. I would imagine rates are going to creep up slowly, specifically because of the number of recent buyers. You have to reckon that the BOE are better economists that the EDF and will try to avoid causing widespread defaults.
  7. He probably doesn't even write the recipes in the books himself... it's often the way with these things.
  8. Yup, hacksaw should do it... good way to burn off a few calories.
  9. I just looked at the price of flats in Clapham... think you might be onto something, Jamez...
  10. I can't quite work it out either. Especially for what is a pleasant, but not really high end part of London. Where are all these people with 900K to spend coming from?

    The Beatles

Why are you asking? Making sure you have a pair of earplugs on hand, and the phone number for Southwark Noise & Nuisance Team?
  12. The Clock House reminds me of a bar in a Jurys Inn (or wherever it was that Alan Partridge lived).
  13. I guess if the cooker is under a glass roof, you'd need to think carefully about extraction.
  14. You must have been rich. I had to get the National Express up to Liverpool... grim...
  15. With a secret woodland pitstop in the middle, serving hot buttered rum and barbecued squirrel.
  16. Wikipedia says Thomas Hazlehurst (soap and alkali manufacturer) and the redhead from Girls Aloud are from Runcorn. Seems it's steeped in history, really.
  17. I got it (not the obscure game thing though). Nowt intriguing about Runcorn..
  18. I would be delighted to be proved wrong.
  19. It's a no-mans-land between ED, the village, and Forest Hill. A pub wouldn't work. A restauarant would have to be bloody good to get people down there. A supermarket might work if there's enough parking there.
  20. You don't need a visa, fox. You just need to apply for travel authorisation (ESTA). I seem to remember the process is more or less instant.
  21. Hood83 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Of course I live on the DKH estate Living on the estate doesn't automatically say anything about you - especially when privately owned flats are changing hands for 280K... there are presumably some fairly decent earners living there.
  22. fazer, sounds like you go to all the best parties!
  23. ... waiting for KK to post 'Evidently Chickentown'... with every other word fuck ed out
  24. Limited room? Its a pretty big site...
  25. I dunno... Rye Lane's a big road. Deep rooted immigrant communities. Lots and lots of social housing nearby. You can see the gentrification reaching along the side streets, but Rye Lane itself... I can't see it any time soon.
