  2. We shouldn't have to go to a bloody meeting. It's obvious that 1 month waiting lists and 1 hour phone queues are not acceptable.

But then there's another probem... take a device with 64GB solid state storage, stick full Windows 8 on it, and all of a sudden that 64GB doesn't look so generous. Still, I like the idea. I could live with a 11 inch laptop if the resolution was high enough.
  4. The code has been cracked. Your secret is out.
  5. I'm tempted by one the the windows 8 hybrid tablet/laptops. You can pick up the HP Envy x2 for under ?500 now. Spec and battery life aren't great though...
  6. A few years back, someone went back to the office after the party and took a shit in the foyer. They got sacked.

  8. But DC... as you said back in May 2009(!), you might have to share the jackpot... so there's no guarantee you'll make money, however large the prize fund. For all you know, 10 people might all pick the winning numbers!
  9. We had a team meal, a department-wide piss up, and a company-wide black tie do. I didn't go to any of them this year. There's other things I'd rather do with my evenings.
  10. I have to use the type that clip onto your ear... anything else just falls out after a few seconds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-505400-OMX185-Stereo-Earphones-Black/dp/B0076Z76E0 I wouldn't run with earphones on at night though.
  11. South Bank University Sport Centre offer children parties, and also have a large sports hall for hire. Might be a bit "basic" though...

Mine's a pint of mild. Whatever the hell that is.
  14. I'm obviously getting confused about something, H-M-B...
  15. 45yrs? It has only been there for 5 years or so.
  16. The shell is a pain in the arse. A lobster ready-peeled in a big sandwich makes sense to me.
  17. I really think that restaurants and takeaways that serve westernised versions of "ethnic" foods (i.e. almost all of them) are missing a trick. They just need to do a small menu of authentic-ish dishes, and everyone will start queueing at the door and paying double.
  18. StraferJack Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > he was no saint and wasn't afraid of confrontation Yep... most of the stuff I've been reading about him today conveniently wipes out a big chunk of his history. (although I'm not suggesting that the ends didn't justify the means)
  19. I've never been in there before. But I saw some pics online and it looks like a bit of a time capsule...
  20. If you really want an annoying book shop, pop in here if you're ever in town: http://www.revolutionbooks.org/
  21. Some local live music coming up on the 11th at Peckham Liberal Club. Bands of a variety of genres, including The Zonderlings (featuring two forum regulars). There will be DJs too. And curried goat (I think that's actual food, not the name of a band). Proceeds to the Philippines Storm Relief Fund.
  22. I still don't understand why foxes can't go to sainsbury's and spend their nectar points. Is it because they never accumulate enough points to make even the smallest of purchases?
