  1. James Herbert-esque Rats, I'm afraid...
  2. Our current resident troll is not even vaguely funny, and just comes across as rather sad.

It's pretty local to my new place too, so hope to be popping in from time to time. I'm sure they do have some reasonably priced beers in there.

Something like Leffe is surely over ?5 a pint, so an imported (American?) craft IPA is probably good value in comparison.
  5. Why not phone the number - if its a genuine locksmith then surely its legit?
  6. Either wear the badge, or ask for the seat!
  7. He is/was usually pretty good to watch (although the Wlad fight did stink a bit). Although being forced to retire like this must really suck, he has been a part-time boxer for years now. I doubt his heart is really in the sport any more. Hard to tell how much of his tedious public persona is the real him... he used to come across very well (for a boxer) back before he became CW champion. I even remember a TV presenter introducing him as something like "one of the most articulate boxers you're ever likely to meet". So either he manufactured this brash persona to raise his profile, or the fame went to his head.
  8. Same old moaning about chains and parking. A cinema on LL would have absolutely no detrimental impact to the shops and restaurants, quite the opposite. The argument doesn't make sense. Comparisons to an occasional pub cinema club are like comparing a swimming pool to a paddling pool in the back garden. And it seems odd to resent new facilities moving to the area because people want easy parking but at the same time reject a CPZ.
  9. Depends how badly you want the flat, I guess. It is really outrageous that agents are doing this though.
  10. Oh, unlurked... you really are a ray of sunshine.
  11. Must be a typo... if they go to Vauxhall/Kennigton/Walworth
  12. Doesn't really mean much, because 20K a year can get you quite a long way in poorer countries.
  13. I thought we were talking about Sky vs Virgin as an ISP... not access to content.. (I think)
  14. Surely you have the dish for TV and cable for broadband?
  15. I don't get any of the tinny crackling you mention, youandi... but the noise cancelling just doesn't seem to do very much. Very slight reduction in background noise on flights, but decidedly unremarkable. Not one of my better purchases. You could get a pair of these. You'll look like you've just stepped out of a recording studio circa 1985 but they sound cracking and you won't hear anything or anyone else.
  16. Yeah, what is it with those idiotic "Beats by Dr Dre" headphones? The other day I noticed a range of "Bob Marley" headphones in the airport, which I'm even more perplexed by. I have a pair of AKG noise canelling headphones (K480?) which look almost identical to the K451 you mention. They sound OK-ish, but the noise cancelling is pretty pathetic, and you seem to pay a lot extra for that feature... I'd save ?70 and buy the cheaper ones.
  17. Went down around 10ish last night, but back up by early this morning. Not exactly the end of the world. Virgin media get a lot of flack on here, but we find them generally OK.
  18. Surely being recognised comes with the territory. I wouldn't approach a "celeb" personally, but I also wouldn't feel guilty about it.

  21. They throw stones at your house? That's awful. I demand to know what is going to be done about this.
  22. Count me in for the tearful farewell drinks!

Yeah, Peroni is always expensive. Triumph of marketing.
  24. Golfs are really expensive, especially second hand. Not sure why they're so popular. I guess people like the brand...
