  1. Either that, or be smart enough to not make it obvious
  2. Only one "usual suspect" on that thread as far as I can see.

    The Patch

Not cheap, but that doesn't mean it's not value for money. Similar prices to ToastED.
  4. A bit of a frosty reception to that one, ruffers...
  5. ?2000 per sqm still sounds a little low to me when you work it out. But the right sort of ball park. Thanks.
  6. Any advice on estimating house rebuild costs for building insurance? BCIS propery calculator returned under 250K for a 4 bed terrace... I doubt you could build a house in London for that...

  8. Yeah it was a lot calmer than I was expecting. But council seem v well prepared, which is great. Closing down rail services may seem extreme on the face of it, but would be irresponsible to run trains full of passengers when there's a clear risk of an accident.
  9. uncleglen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I got most of the > Death metal since I follow that genre- and it > makes me happy not sad actually Jeremy. Ah yes... I seem to remember you posting on the subject previously. Feel free to take the piss out of my music tastes too.
  10. At least you didn't recognise the death metal bands though! That really would be sad.

  12. 100m is pretty low. To be honest if I were you, I'd see if the neighbours are happy with a normal fence. If they are, just go ahead and put one up. If you fall foul of planning (v unlikely anything will actually happen) you can always take it down. It's not like an extension, where the repercussions/costs are much more serious.
  13. WTF is a "rape joke"? How is that even a thing?
  14. PN33 - for a BTL, first of all you'll possibly need a slightly larger deposit. Then you need to satisfy the bank that either a) you can cover the repayments yourself from your earnings or b) the rental income will cover the mortgage + agent fees + an extra comfort margin.
  15. I was actually getting confused between The Vale and the Osbourne Stewart threads.
  16. Imodium will stop you crapping for the forseeable future, but I'd treat it as a last resort.
  17. Where are the frames in that site, foxy? I think with a little tweaking (contents and formatting) it will be perfectly servicable. Better than nothing IMO.
  18. It would have been a more relevant story if instead of phoning your brother, you'd told every passer-by how your brother whizzed down to the bottom of the slope, leaving you on your own. Cold, scared, and lonely. And that you never really liked him anyway.
  19. katanita Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can vouch for No-Flies, they are friends of mine. > Haven't bought or sold through them I don't think you've got the hang of this, katanita. It should go something like: "Having tried many of the established estate agencies in East Dulwich, I was left feeling crushed and devalued. Finally I found No Flies agency - they were like a breath of fresh air, and they really valued me as a client and as a person."
  20. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does not getting out of the car really qualify you > to park wherever you want ? I'd say no. But it sounds like the OP was simply stuck behind another vehicle for a couple of minutes, not parked at all. But it's a little ambiguous...
  21. It probably falls under permitted development rather than full planning permission. So there's not much you can do to stop them going ahead! You could refuse access to your garden of course... but they'd probably find a way around it, and all you've acheived is to piss off your neighbours.
  22. I can't read about Carl Frampton without picturing an open-shirted (and slightly creepy) Peter Frampton doing his voice box routine. Still... I hear he'd pretty handy. Let's hope Frank Warren does the right thing by him (i.e. not a WBO belt followed by years of defences against poor opposition).
  23. I'm with KK... good show, if only more people were willing to stand up to these kids (not sure I can say I'd do the same thing). IMO as long as he didn't beat the living crap out of the kid then it's fair play, but you never know if the police will see things the same way.

  25. TBH bawdy-nan I think most people would agree that these high property prices (both rental and purchase) are detrimental to society. But I am struggling to see what we can do about it. In an affluent city where many people CAN afford to pay high prices and even buy investment properties too. There are certain things which might make a small difference (key worker schemes, etc), but isn't it essentially a manifestation of the wider issue of social inequality?
