    Was just explaining sbain's point... that this midwifery practice is especially popular, and are only available via DMC. Therefore DMC may have an especially high number of mothers/babies. It's just a theory, you don't have to agree.

    The Lanes is a midwifery practice, in demand because they do home visits. That, coupled with the fact that surgeries give priority to babies, would quite possibly explain some of the added load on the surgery.

    TBH steveo your example doesn't really make sense. a) regardless of the ethnicity of the passengers, i think we'd all rather everyone had gone through security b) we all know that there's a specfic threat from islamic terrorists, but the chances of an arab fella on your flight actually being a terrorist is pretty damn small

    The thing is, you never know... entirely possible that local units had been told to watch out for a suspect matching a specific description. Ethnic profiling for anti-terror purposes is clearly a more complex issue as there are often legitimate reasons, even when you're not looking for specific individuals. Not that its any consolation for the poor guy who gets stopped every. single. day. on his way to the office.

    steveo - no, if over 50% of the tenants want to buy the freehold then the landlord has no choice. alixandjames - I used TJM law for buying the freehold to my old flat - not compulsory enfranchisement, but I'm sure they have a lot of exprience of this.

    Yeah but regional housing markets being stuck in a rut, and people not being able to buy a home because banks wants a 20% deposit... that's not a good situation either. I guess I'm playing devils advocate to a certain extent because you do have a point, but just saying that the objective was to get the market functioning in the wider UK.

    It's crazy... we've basically reached the point where normal terrace houses round here cost a million squids. And the speed at which we reached this level is alarming. Surely this can't end well.

    Apparently young/newborn babies are usually seen at short notice (understandably). Given the number of couples with babies round here, than could explain why nobody else can get a look in!

    I'm not sure malumbu... I really like the intense hoppy American-style ales, which seem to be the predominant style in this whole craft beer thing. I don't recall ever tasting anything similar until around 10 years ago, so not sure how it's "emperor's new clothes". Incidentally, Oakham produce bottle-conditioned and keg craft beer as well as real ale...
