Yep, put traps down, and get all holes in the floors/skirting blocked up. That will get rid of 'em soon enough.
  2. They don't appear to have much actual Nepalese food on the menu, though...
  3. Seems quite unusual for the thing to sit still while you took a photo. Usually as soon as they clock you, they do a runner.
  4. Overground trains terminating at Shadwell this week... just gets better and better...
  5. Not sure whether to take this seriously or not! But if they'll consider SE5, Ferndene Road has wonderful views. Rarely see houses for sale there, though. Or Dawson's Heights if they're looking for a flat.

  7. Yep... fully segregated cycle lane would be infinitely more useful than this joke of a train service!

  10. Bloody Australians...
  11. Yep. Think ED is reaching restaurant saturation. Presumably their old Peckham Rye site is being redeveloped?

    Empty Shops

I liked the food (and the people), but I think "authentic taste of France" is pushing it a bit.
  13. You know, like a steak and kidney suet pudding. One of my favourites. My wife (damn foreigner) finds them absurd, though.

Never been a huge fan of Jaflong, but the ability to drink fancy beer with my dinner does sound tempting. > Perhaps also the Fire Ices ice-cream shop if > people dont fancy a sorbet in a coconut shell. Fabulous Ice Fires is excellent, really love their ice cream, but I don't think it's open in the evening. Would be nice to see some of our local Indian restaurants do a proper dessert, rather than just the usual rubbish.

M&S are good... v solid construction. As long as you don't want something "funky".
  17. When the Overground was first introduced to PR/QRP, almost all the trains were direct to H&I. Seems like all of our transport is being gradually diminished.
  18. Yep, it really has stopped running direct to H&I. Another nail in the coffin.

  20. Surely you won't reading it properly, Loz. We need to stick it to the Froggies and the Gerries!! Hit 'em where it hurts!
  21. Don't know about "absolutely outrageous"... but it is poor. Seems to be indicative of the way that store is ran.
  22. I'd say it's good manners to offer the food to your guests first, but then people should just get stuck in once the food is served. But it's definitely terrible, terrible manners to bring it up and embarrass your hosts. Some of my wife's relatives came over for lunch last year, and they all prayed at the table before starting to eat. Now I obviously don't care what they do in their own home, but felt a bit invasive.
  23. IMO if technology can replace humans, or make a process more efficient, it will eventually happen. So I have little sympathy for the unions on this one. It kind of reminds me of the ridiculous black cabs/uber debacle.
  24. M&S will do well... crucially, they'll be open when the independents are shut. The food - while not amazing - is on a different level to co-op, which I only use as a last resort. Whether or not you personally like convenience food is kind of a moot point. There are a lot of people out there who don't have time to cook every night, or simply have no interest in cooking. Each to their own.
  25. ed_pete - yes, I should have known better than to bite.
