  1. Stalking pays. Who would have thought it.
  2. There was me, worried that I'd regret posting...
  3. Tony, I disagree. I think we all realise there's a problem with gun crime and knife crime. I am not aware of it being brushed under the carpet.
  4. I will bite. Please tell us Tony, what is the other disturbing feature?
  5. I think there are some drivers who just refuse to stop at the lights if the car in front goes through.
  6. M&S ready-prepared food is good for days when I don't want (or don't have time) to cook, but I can live without it. A Wimpy would be awesome. Imagine being able to get a bender-in-a-bun on Lordship Lane.
  7. PGC - that's exactly what I was thinking. Also, it seems reasonable that if you work in a hosptial, you should stay away from work if ill, to avoid spreading viruses and stuff (it's not always the case in the private sector).
  8. You're right, quids. I am shocked.
  9. When were we ever "promised" an M&S or Waitrose?!

Sounds interesting, I have not really come across this before. I assume there is a middle man who facilitates the loan - do you know if they cover the "lender" if the "borrower" fails to make a repayment?
  11. Kind of like Popeye with his can of spinach?
  12. EDF drinks, outside the pub. Jah Lush is furious, swearing drunkenly and taking wild swings at BigBadWolf. In turn, BBW is nimbly bobbing and weaving, laughing the assault off... taking his time... picking his moment. Jah, getting ever more frustrated, realises he's gonna have to fight dirty. He considers taking drastic action. How will it end?
  13. 75p each way does sound like a lot, but hopefully you wouldn't need to drive much as it's so close to the station. And of course you can always drive via the other end of College Road. It is definitely in West Dulwich, the postcode is SE21 (not that it should really matter).
  14. I know some guys who used to live in Breakespeares, there was never any trouble. Yes it's quiet, but it's a predominantly upmarket neighbourhood, so not many people just "hanging around". Not sure about the toll gate, I assumed residents didn't have to pay, but I could be completely wrong.
  15. Of course they do - some are supposed to be convincing (the russian mafia/brothel episode), others not so much (PetuniaButtons). Maurice was probably somewhere in between the two.
  16. Very relieved to hear that the injuries aren't too severe. Bikes often go over that bridge at ridiculous speeds, something needs to be done about it. Meanwhile there are some pretty dumb comments on that Evening Standard link... "All those vehicles should be driven underground and the streets for the people. Let the buses and trucks etc have the motorways"...
  17. Town Called Malice - The Jam

  19. JetSetWilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ivanhoe village, ha, ha, ha, ha......... Good isn't it! Do you think it will catch on? As it falls just outside Denmark Hill Village or Bellenden Village, I thought it deserved it's very own village status. Start a facebook group, get a few estate agents on board, forget that it's next to the estate, and bob's your uncle. Think of the house prices.
  20. Lordship Lane has a nicer atmosphere I think, and there's much more stuff here than in Herne Hill. I'm not convinced that Brockwell Park is anything special either - but they do have more events than either of the parks in Dulwich. But Herne Hill does still have some good pubs and places to eat, and a venue for live music. And the proximity to Brixton is useful for transport, bars, clubs, gigs, or whatever. And the houses are bigger and often nicer. Therefore I am on the fence.
  21. There are still a few "proper" pubs around these parts - and that doesn't necessarily mean skanky. Hermit's Cave in Camberwell and Hoopers in "Ivanhoe Village" are both good.
  22. Even if matthew's theory is true, I don't see the problem. The athletes at a given meeting are still competing on even terms, and the prospect of breaking records and pushing the sport forward adds excitement. Do you think we'd have this much interest in Athletics right now if Bolt and Gay were running 9.8-9.9s?
  23. Strange Town - The Jam
  24. Let The Right One In is good - good performances, good script, great direction. But yeah, I don't really think it's a horror film either... comparisons with the J-Horror stuff don't really hold water, it's really a different kettle of fish altogether.
