  1. I think Fox went a bit overboard, but it is worth pointing out that data is still recoverable after a simple factory reset. You need to make sure you do it properly.
  2. People are already confusing it for Bao London before it's even opened. It's working. It's business.
  3. Peckhamrye Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It's not a rip-off of Bao London, it's a Bao > Restaurant - Bao London didn't invent it... You don't think they're influenced by the only other Taiwanese bao restaurant in London? With a similar name, and queues out of the door every night? OK then. And that's not a criticism. Successful businesses have always been imitated. It's common sense.
  4. Foxy - just google for rosie's cafe peckham. It is on the little stretch of Rye Lane just before the White Horse pub. Dodo1 - no, it looks like a rip-off of Bao London. Still looking forward to it though.
  5. Come on now ratty... some people are more willing than others to accept collateral civilian deaths, but nobody "wants to kill innocent people".

If you follow the link: "It?s a basic tool that means they can make a much needed call home. Access maps to find out where they are. 7. LondonMix Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Think about someone trying to buy you music kit for a tenner. There are LOADS of useful things you can buy a musician/guitarist for under a tenner. Obviously you're not going to buy a guitar for that, but you might buy a cable, strap, tuner, etc. Similarly for a runner.. you're not going to get your running shoes or a proper bit of clothing, but you might get some gloves or something. And even if you have them already, a spare pair never hurts!
  8. Hat, gloves, snood, etc. Running shops might be too expensive. Decathlon is a good bet.

Same case with Barnet and Enfield (originally my neck of the woods). Nobody really considered them part of north London. To us, London started somewhere around Tottenham/Edmonton.
  10. The tables will be turned when the Whitgift becomes a Westfield...
  11. Ultimately a free coach is better than hundreds of parents all driving their kids to/from Camberwell every day. Which is exactly what would happen.
  12. Curmudgeon, great that you're happy for your kids to walk that kind of distance, but not everybody feels the same. My secondary school was around 3 miles from home. The school/council laid on coaches. It's normal.
  13. Exactly. 30-40 min walk twice a day for an 11 year old... seriously?

    Davis Cup

I dunno. American sports events have a very "American" flavour, certainly very in-your-face and they really push the "entertainment" aspect. Not a bad thing but certainly different... and yes sometimes a bit garish to the typical European.
  15. Yeah basically... cheaper payments. Making repayments sounds wise in theory, but only if you're making sufficient monthly profit after tax to afford it.
  16. The 2 bed modern houses near ED station should be around 550 I think (although can't see any available at the moment).
  17. DuncanW Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And just a little bit condescending with it Not intended to be, just poking fun at the cliches. In reality hardly anyone (either incoming or outgoing) actually personifies them.
  18. The "real London people" have cashed in and moved out to Kent. They get their semi-detached houses with a fish pond, and del-boy style bar stocked with brightly coloured liqueurs. We get 1200 sqft houses in a self-congratulatory enclave of organic produce, and a short-ish commute into town (which we need, because we work 8am-7pm to pay our ridiculous mortgages). Everyone's a winner.
  19. You need to look very carefully at the rental income, mortgage payments, maintenance/agency fees, etc. It can be hard to make BTL work in London unless you have a lot of equity.
  20. We need some way to issue fines for homes left empty for long periods (including those with foreign owners). I know, easier said than done...

  22. JohnL Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I supported Corbyn as he would drag the whole > political debate leftwards -- and he has. > Osborne will be centre-left soon. Really think it's a stretch to suggest that this is a result of Corbyn. If anything the lack of credible opposition has given the tories more freedom.
  23. As Loz said... would suggest people stay on point without getting personal. The whole American thing is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned ("abusive and illegal" might be taking things a bit far, but can understand you taking offence).
  24. Was wondering the same Loz. Lots of landlords are going to have to either raise the rent or sell up due to the changes to interest tax relief. Throw in the rise to stamp duty which is presumably going to cause a drop in new rental properties coming onto the market.. surely rents are going to be rising pretty sharply before long.
  25. Debatable.
