  1. Yes I know who she is. Just wondering why someone had called her a "luvvie". Never mind.
  2. Phlox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > She's a blogger, instagrammer and ex lawyer. Yeah, I know her. Dulwich61 described her as a "luvvie" which AFAIK means actor/actress, so was confused.
  3. Personal opinion - his role in the peace process doesn't cancel out terrorism, murder and torture. Good riddance.

  6. I remember going to the drum a couple of times, it was completely dead apart from a couple of old boys at the bar and the bulldog. I never quite worked out why people on here seemed fond of it.. until now..
  7. Too heavy for two people to carry?
  8. Quite often go in Fullers pubs in the City... ale tends to be around the ?4 mark, surely Herne Hill can't be more expensive? Some of the keg beers tend to be expensive though.

Yeah.. we had savoury crepes for lunch (seems to be their speciality). TBH nothing special, but the price was right, the people were nice, so all good.

Well, the problem is of course that it's not always easy to differentiate a boring display of soap-box sanctimony from genuine conviction, so it's not a phrase I often (if ever) choose to use myself. Besides, it smacks of newfangledism, which is so not me. But nevertheless, blatant flashing of one's left-leaning credentials is a common enough occurrence amongst liberal Londoners. It doesn't usually bother me that much, but it can be a bit nauseating when people lay it on especially thickly.

Pretty much this. Sanctimony has always been rife on the good old EDF.

  13. Scam. I would have told him to walk back to Bermondsey!

I suspect this could be taxi/minicab drivers at night (same goes for the bottles of pee). The park is closed at night. Public urination is unpleasant but not really in the same league.
  15. Porkchop is right, PR is much too far a diversion from the proposed route. But QRP would only be a relatively small diversion. Or even situating the OKR2 station such that an interchange with QRP is viable (e.g. Clapham High Street).

For a night out in Brixton or going up to the Horniman, it does the job. But for commuting, it just takes far too long and is too unpredictable - most people need to be in work at a certain time. Especially if school/nursery drop-off means you can't leave earlier. Or indeed, you need to do the evening pick-up. Also the constant stop-start movement (and frequent poor driving) makes me feel sick, and certainly rules out book/kindle/phone/tablet.

I used to live quite near East Dulwich station, and the walk to Moorgate was 1hr 30 at a decent pace. So probably 1:20 to Bank. Once you get to London Bridge, things slow down a lot with the crowds of people, and lots of roads to cross. Also bear in mind that most people living in East Dulwich proper will probably be a bit of a walk south of ED station (the station is almost on the Camberwell border) so you can probably add another 10 minutes for that. Oh.. and it's OK to disagree with each other, but you don't need to be quite so rude (I was a little short in my initial response to rendel, and I apologise...)
  19. Oh dear.. poor Ryu..

Yep, that sort of price point is more appropriate for a neighbourhood restaurant. Although I can't help thinking that with a steak restaurant, the selling point is primarily the quality of the meat, and rapid expansion could potentially compromise that..
  21. Walk from ED to the City in an hour? Don't think so. You might get from Goose Green to Elephant in an hour...
  22. No no, ED is far too suburban for the likes of Hawksmoor, but nevertheless it would indeed be great to have a decent local steak restaurant.
  23. The forum would be so much better if some people would just stop. talking. crap.

It still trades on the NCR. Oh right, I knew he'd gone, but didn't realise it was still trading under new owners. Didn't notice it there on the weekend but maybe I missed it. I remember the hot dogs used to be pretty decent... tasty, filling, and inexpensive. What can you buy for ?4 in Louisa's beloved Pret-a-Manger? Not very bloody much! If someone's now charging ?7.50 then I agree it's too much, but if F&L are getting all outraged over a made-up price, then well...
