  1. Just read this article....it rings very true sadly... https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/mar/12/what-happened-women-uk-harassed-street
  2. I don't think your NHS number is essential - They do ask if you have it but if you don't then they do it by name and date of birth....
  3. They were being very efficient there when I passed by....I saw someone else had called the centre to check that it was all correct and were able to confirm they were booked in - might be worth double checking.
  4. I think ours is about 1200k shared between 5 flats
  5. I would think that is one hell of a commute....
  6. I have emailed Helen Hayes about the state of the post which is still appalling. We have many items missing including things sent tracked mail from ebay...I'm not on twitter but people do suggest contacting companies via social media to get answers?!
  7. Yes we've booked him in for this week as a friend told us about it but still nothing from DMC
  8. Mmmm...we have been offered a place but haven?t been told anything about needing to provide any paperwork yet? Our offer just says it assumes we are accepting the place unless we tell them we are not...have I missed something?
  9. My partner who?s 63 still hadn?t heard anything from dmc...luckily someone told us about gov site...something?s not working....maybe it?s the appalling post situation? But then they haven?t texted or phoned either...
  10. There are park wardens. Phone number is on the noticeboards as you go in. Let them know, I've always found them responsive.
  11. But they've taken the great self service tills out....the ones that don't beep every 2 minutes as you try to balance your shopping....
  12. Solicitor sent out 5 first class letters 2 weeks ago. 1 has arrived. Also received a text today saying tried to deliver sign for letter then link to a redelivery site which looked very legitimate - three of us were in all day, no card and I haven?t ordered anything so how would they have my number? Link really didn?t look like a scam..what would a scammer get out of a redelivery link? Tried to check number with customer services no answer - just announced they made huge profits?! How is this allowed - they are charging people for services that are not being fulfilled...still!
  13. Would love Brickhouse to return...somewhere...really miss their Peckham Rye...hope they?re still looking...
  14. Planning in Southwark is soul destroying with everything stacked against existing residents. No wonder people feel disempowered. The system is also set-up as a ?for or against? when compromise could make a huge difference for years to come. But then, when the head of housing has to resign for having an anonymous twitter feed moaning about nimbys it says a lot......depressing
  15. I've heard really good things about St Dustan's through friends who have 2/3 kids there.
  16. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/exclusive-southwark-housing-chief-quits-after-south-london-press-investigation-of-twitter-account/ Not very good at links but hope this works!
  17. Thanks to all those that commented to protect this area. They will be back - so keep your eyes peeled - I?ll do my best to keep you updated...
  18. Apologies if already a thread couldn?t see one - Seems irresponsible during a lockdown when people encouraged to shop locally - more people going into fewer shops.. tried writing to head office but no response and too late to stop now anyway - shame
  19. A reminder that there are still 2 days to send comments on this overdevelopment next to the cinema - Best to email planning officer directly now email as listed above..
  20. Thanks - yes I was just after contents but I guess people with basements nearby may have had problems - thanks
  21. We have lived for over 20yrs in a first floor flat on Bassano Street. I have always used the same insurance but decided to use my time at home to get a better deal. Was already to sign up with a new insurer when they said that the underwriters had flagged up that we were in a flood plain?! so they could not offer me insurance.....I find this so weird as I have never in my time in East Dulwich seen a flood, as well as the fact that I am on the first floor... Anyone know what this is about or overcome this problem? Thanks
  22. There's been a glitch meaning I couldn't post on here for a couple of days so just bumping as the official deadline is tomorrow although comments can be taking into consideration by the planning officer up until the 20th Jan. Please take a look as it could have a big impact on a special part of East Dulwich.
  23. Hi all, Just a reminder that the deadline for comments for this application is officially tomorrow although the planning officer can take into accounts any comments made up until they make their decision around the 20th January. Please take time to look at it. It is a large development of flats next door to the cinema and will have a big impact of the feel of the area if it gets approval. Thanks
