Hi Bonnierach as someone also looking for work experience for my son (but not in your field) massive thumbs up for stepping forward.....It is so hard to find a range of experiences and yet it could inspire a life and bring new talent into the pool in the future. I wish the government or business organisations would get more behind this. A big thumbs up for SQUINTOPERA.COM 😊

Hi, my son is at Kingsdale and next September has the chance to do 2 weeks work experience. He is studying for GCSE Economics and is keen to learn more about the world of Investment Banking. Does anyone have any leads/contacts suggestions or advice for trying to get a placement. Understandably most of their programmes are for graduates and above. He will be 15yrs. Any pointers greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.

That's it. Thanks Sweetgirl. Shame this has been lounged. Was trying to empower the many local people who have issues with their GP's to do something about it.....hey ho...

Thought I'd put this up for anyone who wants to feedback on their experience of health services. (Sorry I know I said link but not sure how to put a link in! Anyone else?!) The people to give comments to are: Care Quality Commission www.cqc.org.uk There is a very simple form at the top of their page to fill in - takes minutes (you can do it while still waiting on the phone to get through to a GP!) - They will then collate feedback when assessing the quality of care that is offered.

Mcallum32, No one has an issue with Tree Amigos per se but the site of their commercial business on a relatively small space of community land was inappropriate. Thank you James for sorting this. -

I don't have a problem with a 'pop-up', most of them are, excluding Penguin's good point above, but I do have a problem with a beautiful community park being taken over for commercial use in the run up to Christmas...it's just far too big...a corner of Dulwich Park would be more appropriate....horrible for the residents looking out onto and the dog walkers...and within metres of the Church.. I am assuming it is there until Christmas but maybe I've got that wrong...maybe it's just for the Christmas Cracker...ironic when I thought that was to boost local businesses? Anyone have an email address of who to contact at the council..... -

But James McAsh you're missing the point - This isn't about housing or not housing - It's about genuine consultation, compromise, engagement of community, effective planning rules and investing in good design. When people engage but feel they are just part of a PR exercise then they dis-engage, along with all those with views but not access, and democratic engagement is lost..... -

James you have always been very supportive and worked hard with Planning Issues....for me it is a real sign of a bad democracy when planning departments are so ineffective and trawl out fake consultations. The Labour Council should be ashamed of the way these decisions are made...I too was not against using the space for more housing but that shouldn't mean a carte blanche approach regardless of issues brought up by the surrounding residents. -

I have just checked and to confirm Southwark Planning prefer you to comment by the link above but if you know people who would prefer to write or email comments then they can still be sent to the main planning email address quoting the planning reference (19/AP/1861) and their name and address. If they don't want their name and address made public then they just need to include a line saying 'please ensure my name and address are removed before putting my comments online'. Landlords and tenants can make comments. planning.enquiries@southwark.gov.uk Address: Planning Department Southwark Council 160 Tooley Street London SE1P 5LX -

It's social housing so they won't be buying it.... Boddle they don't make it easy but the plans are there with multiple images - click the related documents tab. My point on aesthetics is not that they have to be the same as those around them but 'in keeping' which I think the consultation ones were but now they have changed them, presumably to save money, in particular on the second floor...so for people living opposite not only do they have their light replaced by a building but by a pretty ugly one....buildings hang around for years surely we can expect them to be designed in a way that is carefully thought out aesthetically as well as practically. For the first time in my experience they are saying that comments can only be made via the link. They are not offering an email address for comments or saying that letters will be accepted....in my opinion this is discriminatory. These links are not easy, especially if you are not used to using computers (see Boddle's comments) and if they really wanted people to engage then they would find better ways to genuinely have a dialogue. -

I am really disappointed by the design of these which are very different from what was shown at the consultations. The second floor level is ugly and not at all in keeping with the buildings around. I was also assured that the idea was for the brickwork to blend in with the buildings nearby. I will be opposing the design. -

Penalty Charge notice for taking left turn..
Cora replied to matthew123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Maybe someone could help explain why I have got a Penalty Notice for turning right from Peckham Rye Junction onto East Dulwich Road. 'Failing to drive in the direction shown by the arrow on a blue sign'. I'm sure you can usually turn right? If it was a blue sign would that be temporary one?..... Wish I hadn't gone to the re-cycling centre....should have called bulk waste collection for ?16! -
