  1. Speeded up it all looks pretty lethal on the roads!!
  2. Hi, Sorry to ask but with growing sons I am trying to keep up with stuff...what does 'couldn't reset their phones' mean? Do people mug kids now and expect them to handover the passwords or something? Another 'hug a hero' to the guy that came out to help. All the best to your son and his friend.
  3. Photoshoot In Brickhouse Cafe....feeling hungry as couldn't buy my bread!!
  4. Yep, me too.....teachers are not babysitters, there for our convenience, they are professionals with a vocation and I am grateful they are trying to fight for the best education for my children.
  5. There is a refugee/asylum seekers hostel at the top of Barry road who are sometimes looking for donations. Women's refuges will never give out their address publicly for obvious reason but phoning the women's refuge general number will probably link you with a contact. The salvation army have a baby bank ongoing I think so again contacting their Southwark number.
  6. Meeting a friend south bank/London Bridge and would love to treat ourselves to a great Sunday lunch...any recommendations? We will have well behaved 9 and 6 yr old in tow so nothing posh! Thanks in advance....
  7. Definitely there - but yes with the adult newspapers...?2 a copy.
  8. I agree and I'm sure this won't be the last one....I agree the first one didn't bother me...but a wall of hoardings like this Winkworth one does....
  9. Walters tae Kwon do in the busses building....weds morning I think....
  10. Maybe the kids at St John's and St Clements could do some signs as an art project?....
  11. Only option B mentions humps, so go with option A, tweaking it to avoid tree felling? The double yellow lines and build out, especially on Chesterfield road make complete sense to me to make it safer for pedestrians.
  12. Think the Albrighton centre might too..
  13. We are in a very similar situation to you. Family of 5 in a two bedroom flat but every time we look to move we would miss too much and are happy here. Yes space would be great but to move just for space isn't enough for me when there is so much on offer. You say you are happy at the moment and I would just go with that. If and when the scales tip you will be in a great position to move and you will know why you are moving and what you are looking for. I visited loads of secondary schools and they were all great so I don't think this is a major issue. I also find that you tend to notice children who are the same age as yours. Maybe that is why you are not noticing the teenagers, you're not mixing with that crowd yet or maybe they are just to busy doing stuff and not having to hang around on street corners?! I imagine we will stay put as there is loads for us too, friendships being made over time and the boys will have a London base...Friends move out, but that gives you an excuse to visit them and get out of London and do home swaps with them when they want to get a London fix...who knows what might change in the future, but when it does we'll re-evaluate then.
  14. Yep, I am only being offered waste bags on the form too...trying to order a recycling bin after the bin men broke the lid off....Have tried several times changing my answers to see if they will offer me a blue bin depending on my answer but no luck...will try ringing...
  15. Worth changing title to say May 7th weekend ;)
  16. Thanks Renata will check it out :)
  17. Hi, My partner's working in Great Yarmouth for a month and we all want to join him for a couple of nights for the bank holiday. We're on a very tight budget and have left it too late - everything seems booked!...Any suggestions for places/websites/hidden campsites/last minute web searches - Air bnb has nothing :( Thanks in advance X
  18. They have sessions at The Goose Green Clinic....
  19. Follow your instinct - It is your decision not hers, however generous her offer is....If you felt happy with two nights but not four then stick with that. You will not enjoy being away unless instinct tells you it is fine.
  20. Lizzie Hammond does them at The Goose Green Clinic.
  21. Such beautiful decor, really wanted to frequent it but no atmosphere :( Reckon a re-launch with cheerful staff and better fare would work....would be a real shame to lose the place....
  22. In case anyone is phoning for Lewisham waiting lists they will not give out any figures until Weds 16th (tomorrow is final day for accepting/rejecting). Don't waste your time queuing like I did!!
  23. Then maybe they should put more staff on to deal with the extra calls on a Monday morning? As you say it is a predictable pattern that should be managed for. It's not rocket science! If you're ill, you're ill, whether it's the weekend, Monday or any other time. Only by officially complaining will anything get done.....It makes me so angry - of course 50+ redials is not ok. Is a frail, elderly, poorly patient really expected to do this?! Oh no, they should get themselves up and start queuing in the freezing cold at 7.45am for a triage call! I couldn't find the complaint number on choices anymore (I only did a quick search) but here is an email to write to and please cc James Barber into any complaints so he is up to date with present practices. I notice the highly advertised and great at the time, Pharmacy team have now gone! 'When you contact NHS England via email ([email protected]) ensure you state ?For the attention of the complaints manager? in the subject line. You should provide as much information as possible to allow NHS England to investigate your complaint, such as: ?your name and contact details ?a clear description of your complaint and any relevant times and dates ?details of any relevant healthcare providers or services ?any relevant correspondence, if applicable Contact your local CCG for secondary care including hospital treatments, emergency care and some community services, like district nursing. When should I complain? As soon as possible. Complaints should normally be made within 12 months of the date of the event that you're complaining about, or as soon as the matter first came to your attention.'
  24. Phone the complaints line on NHS choices to try and get something done...
