  1. Definitely worth it and yes, more for the social aspect although it is a way for you both to learn together a bit more about it all and voice worries. I think often dads don't get much of a chance to do this. Also for me the best bit was after the birth in the local nct tea groups (which I think may be open to non-members too?). These were invaluable at a time when my conversation was limited to types and times of pooing and sleeping!! I made my two closest local 'mum' friends through these.
  2. Michele at the Goose Green Clinic - very popular classes - Weds morning I think :)
  3. Anyone else having problems getting an email response from Lewisham? Southwark have been fantastic at getting back with queries but I haven't even got acknowledgement for my emails to Lewisham?....Does this suggest they are in more of a state than Southwark who seem to have done well this year? I only want to know where I am on a waiting list.. Renata any advice, inside info or top tips on getting a response? Thanks
  4. I have an issue with the new policy of only being able to pay for swimming lessons by direct debit. Being encouraged to is understandable but being forced to seem really unfair and discriminatory. As this is a council run pool the lessons should be available to anyone not just those who are comfortable with DD. What about those who don't have a bank account or who are close to their limit each month and prefer to just pay in a lump sum when they know they have the money?
  5. wow, great clear pictures!
  6. We put it as third choice and got it - loved the ethos but headteacher recently changed. Meeting for all offered families next Weds Eve to meet new head. Not sure we'll end up going - lots of movement, but definately a great back-up. Journey a bit of a pain but p13 will probably work...where you based?
  7. Do you live anywhere near Bessemer Grange Primary School? Their early years provision is great as well as their inclusion team.
  8. Some friends visiting tommorrow wld love to get them a hat and scarf - can they be bought from the club in the morning, from reception?
  9. Offers come by email in the evening, after 5pm I think?
  10. Yep we do Daniels Tae Kwon Do too....lots of other girls...they also run a half term camp so she could also try a day/half day or more to see what she thinks!
  11. Can you tell me what games will be at home in Feb? And, if there is a choice, which one wld be best to bring kids to? And how to buy tickets - sorry new to all this...
  12. I would definately get a referral to sunshine house to rule out any underlying aspects that may make him react more vigorously to things.
  13. For the first time I understand fly tipping! How crazy that they won't collect mattresses a normal/standard item of bulk waste....What if you don't have a car/van?..
  14. Great practical help Mel :)

  21. A web search suggests things may have relaxed re the draconian measures brought in by the govt taking away a headteachers discretion to authorise term-time absence. Anyone had any experience recently? And is the fine a one-off ?60 per child or per day?......not that I'm planning anything!
  22. Michele's classes at The Goose Green Clinic, sorry don't have contact but should find by searching.
  23. Us too, great club! - We have a 5yr old and 11yr old who go. It was originally in ED but moved to The Bussey building, Peckham which is right opposite the Peckham Rye train station so 37 and p13 buses go directly there, sure there are other buses too depending where you live.
  24. I would say that if you can, do. Once they start school they are full-time until they leave at 18 - it's a small and precious window.
