  1. What did you do with him?
  2. Ah, sorry. Scused.

Oh come on, I was trying to lighten the mood. Virgins all round, and he's still grumpy.
  4. The EDPSAFV, the only true faith, also embraces horse eaters. Join us, brother maxxi.

  6. Every time I think debate on the forum has reached an all-time low, someone breaks the record. It's a sort of hideous inverted Men's 100M. *joins El Pibe in Paradise with divers virgins*
  7. I wish pubs were more like cr?ches. Every time I try leaving my kids in one and pissing off for a bit of retail therapy some bastard calls Social Services.
  8. Red hot: incoherent aggression So last year: humour, tolerance and irony* *yes, I know

    Hen do -HELP!

So you wanna be a boxer in the golden ring Can you punch like a southbound freight train? Tell me just one thing Can you move in a word like a honeybird's wing if you need to? I'm IN LIKE FLYNN, RosieH. Me and Moosling love the songs.
  10. I read the beginning of Daniel Deronda today and it reminded me of this thread: "Men can do nothing without the make-believe of a beginning. Even science, the strict measurer, is obliged to start with a make-believe unit, and must fix on a point in the stars' unceasing journey when his sidereal clock shall pretend that time is at Nought. His less accurate grandmother Poetry has always been understood to start in the middle; but on reflection it appears that her proceeding is not very different from his; since Science, too, reckons backward as well as forward, divides his unit into billions, and with his clock-finger at Nought really sets off _in medias res_. No retrospect will take us to the true beginning; and whether our prologue be in heaven or on earth, it is but a fraction of that all-presupposing fact with which our story sets out"
  11. I'll stand up for Jeremy here. He may have mis-spoken, but he has since apologised. I would prefer not to have what I hoped was useful advice associated with that given by UDT. Ms B didn't ask for styling advice, she wanted a shopping shortcut.

  17. Chrisharvey, good luck in your new venture. Sounds like the new Vale will be a cracker. I think it's fantastic that you've come on here to ask for people's thoughts. A lot of East Dulwich businesses have very mixed feelings about the forum. I believe the founder still spends a lot of time interacting with businesses (and occasionally their lawyers) who take umbrage at what posters have to say. My advice for what it's worth would be to take the swipes on the chin, continue to use the forum to talk to your customers and remember that anonymity + instant posting + public voice often equals aggressive foolishness. It doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of sensible people reading but not posting, who will value a business who is prepared to hear and address legitimate criticism. There, I meant to write something supportive, and I've ended up with a lecture. Anyway, just to say please bear with us and stay with us, and never mind the bollocks.
  18. Goodness, you can't. How about the old spelling: Canute?
  19. You really can't say Cnut on the forum?

Thank you for whomever pointed out the children for sale thread. Hugely funny and even better I then got ?4.50 for my brood, job's a good'un.
  21. I think berries and elderflower are fair game, they're not that decorative so no harm in taking them home and making delicious good use of them. Foraging is a fun pastime. My only exception to the rule would be holly berries at Christmas time - they are part of the decoration of the park just as flowers are, and should be left for us all to enjoy.
  22. Fingers crossed that the Strawbs/Jaws/miniStrawbs household will soon be happy and explosion-free xx

I personally find the show/hide button useful. Or I used to..
