  6. Less than 4 stories no lift, so no lift maintenance which costs a lot, less grounds less maintenance def get an estimation of service charges as they will normally add an extra ?100 to your mortgage charges. Honestly thread carefully
  7. One of my friends moved back to a very small village in Ireland 19 years ago with her 2 children the elder whom of was mixed race & it was possibly the best move she ever made. Her eldest who is now almost 22 is one of the nicest most mature boys I know. I remember when he was about 3 he said whilst looking at tv, you know there's children who look like me. However I don't think he has ever experienced racism he has a huge circle of friends and is very popular, maybe being a bit different was in his favour, but I think most of all it was the family support and a very secure base
  8. Don't know how long the bridge at Honor Oak station would be able to tolerated the weight of the buses, stand on it and feel the vibrations when the double dockers go over
  9. Absolutely Djkqs response was totally tongue in cheek, irony bypass there, but obviously sensitive subject. Massive congrats to both for getting work.
  10. I did au pairing in France as a 17 year old, shy & much too young, long story. It was the grandparents summer home in the Loire Valley so all the family came there during the summer, the purpose was for me to improve my French! which I did. I wasn't really asked to do a lot, just be an extra hand with the sometimes up to 12 children. For me the worst bits were being included as an adult at the dinner table, having to eat with normally 8 adults, some of whom could speak perfect English, the Grandfather was actually an English Professor, but the Grandmother insisted I should only hear French, so no English was allowed. The family were very kind and I was always included, eg. when anyone in the family went away on little trips and brought back presents I always got one, but unfortunately I remember it as the loneliest time in my life, stuck between adulthood & childhood.Of course this was pre Internet so no Facebook, mobile phone etc. I would suggest don't get anyone too young,
  11. I would seriously suggest not to try do too much, I remember one of my nieces saying after a day in London that she was so tired she felt sick. At that age they will enjoy most things, so maybe one day doing things and then a day at home with maybe a trip to Dulwich park with a picnic. 176 to Waterloo walk along Southbank and train from London Bridge home Legoland is another big hit I've always managed to do it pretty cheap, adult ticket if you have nectar points use them and then children's tickets there's always 2 for 1 offers so you manage to pay for only one child ticket and think train is only about a ?1 for children. A pushchair for 4 year old is also worth it, they might say they're too big but their legs are so little they tire easily. Do things like freeze drinks in freezer and grapes to take places that's one of my top tips, keeps sandwiches cool and cold drinks all day. Surrey Docks farm is also very good Bake pizzas with them, let them garden a bit, no matter what they'll enjoy and you'll see a different London through their eyes
  12. Thanks for that will check it out as really want to see it
