  1. Given the appalling behaviour at Wootten Bassett I think most people are aware of the views of some islamists and as there is safety in numbers the muslim politicians would rather express the views held by muslims rathers than non-muslims.
  2. call me a Luddite but this kind of thing is ridiculous. All these 'toys' are a waste of natural resources which are FINITE- have you no environmental conscience Henry HB?
  3. After the riots several items from Croydon found their way to Streatham Cash Converters- although it may have been via a third party because in my experience of selling in the Walworth road branch they are very hot on I.D.
  4. If the NHS got any extra money of significance, some pen pusher would probably spend it on a new machine that goes 'ping'
  5. The only solution to the 'housing shortage' in London (or rather the 'overpopulation' of London) is to move all the people who are workshy and perpetually on benefits out of the city thereby freeing up accommodation for actual workers...just a thought...
  6. OMG- anchor babies......
  7. I daresay cats have the same impact in the UK as they do in the USA http://www.tnrrealitycheck.com/barn_cats.asp Although feral cats are supposed to be useful unlike pampered pussies
  8. Maybe all pets should be banned in London except these https://pethelpful.com/dogs/Top-10-Dog-Breeds-Ideal-for-Catching-Rats I can personally vouch for the Cairn terrier
  9. Tony Bliar was right about the public being misinformed- but that was during his ENTIRE election etc campaigning. Anyway- I still think that because of the contradictions on both sides people voted Remain or Leave according to their own personal circumstances and experience, or by Virtue Signalling (although i know someone who voted Leave but totally denies it because of their personal circumstances at work)
  10. what do people expect- the city is swamped. A friend was stuck in Salisbury and got taken ill....20 minute wait....
  11. An example of what is happening in East London came my way recently. An East European and his wife and baby got a 2 -bedroomed council flat. The husband went off to live with his builder mates and the wife then claimed benefits. She let the other bedroom to a working couple and she divided the sitting room with a curtain and let that to two working people. Meanwhile the husband visits regularly for conjugal reasons.....how long before she gets pregnant again and gets a 3 bedroomed council flat or house....we are being taken for a ride people and since there is not enough property to go round, the local councils will turn a blind eye like they did in the 1970s after we had an influx of refugees. Those refugees were living many to a house in poor areas, they more or less set up a parallel society and collected money together and bought property which they are now renting out room by room in our big cities- many to Europeans. I have personally seen examples of this in east London, and in Nottingham. In Nottingham friend joked that when the night shift got home, they got into the bed of the day shift....
  12. Having driven, or been on a bus, through Peckham regularly since 1987 the 'High Street Challenge' does not seem to improved that area- especially around the bus station.... Meanwhile Southwark are removing the dog-waste bins - what's the future hold? Sorry to be cynical but it is another example of taking money from the front line of the community and spreading it behind the scenes, then blaming the government for the drop in MY quality of life....
  13. yes R.I.C.E Rest Ice Compression Elevation.....asap
  14. They are usually classified as 'vulnerable adults'......
  15. There is no will in the teaching profession to make schools work especially when there is a Tory government because the teaching profession is determined to bring any Tory government down. In the 1970s there were many members of the Worker's Revolutionary Party and the Socialist Workers Party who were teachers, and some were in senior positions in schools. The money for each pupil is given to the local council education department to disseminate under local democracy (i.e. you voted for them) and do not think for one minute that a Labour council will make any stringent cuts (or any cuts, for that matter) in its admin staff in order to pass more money to the 'chalk face'. This applies to local authority controlled schools of course.
  16. which ones? I've always thought the ones near schools were a bit badly positioned

  22. speculation- in Lordship Lane- it's either going to be food or an estate agent.
