  1. Brian Eno is 68; 19 years ago he would have been 49- old enough to know what he was doing with regards to his taxes. Yu can say what you like about me- I have personal experience of the loony left and its fascist attitude to the people of the this world who create wealth and jobs. The way that the educated left have crapped over the real dispossessed working class of the UK whilst persuading them to vote labour. And it is interesting to note that the ONLY people who support open door policies are people who, like Brian Eno and all his cleb pals, have made their money and are totally insulated against the negative aspects of the ridiculous policies of the EU. Angela Merkel (and Adolf Hitler) would be proud that the EDF is so supportive of the United States of Europe
  2. Brian Eno , bit of a hypocrite http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/bands-on-the-run-1164826.html
  3. I have used the self-checkout twice in the last week because it is much quicker and more fun than trying to compete with the checkout staff . As soon as you finish the assistants are on the ball- at your side to sign off on items needing approval.
  4. There is one at the entrance to BelAir park but I haven't been recently so they may have removed it. Whenever I did go there it was always tidy
  5. The extent to which the over-privileged of the UK threw their toys out of the pram before and especially after the referendum because if ANY of the remoaners had put an ounce of thought into the underclass of Europe, or knew anything about what has gone on in working class heartlands, they would have predicted it. (here and in the USA) There we all were thinking that the educated were reliable, decent, upstanding, humane people and in fact they were a bunch of spoilt children instantly worried about their house prices, cost of building work, border controls threatening their weekends in Paris etc (sod the climate change and pollution eh, and the waste of finite fuel resources). And the fact that all their selfish reasons for wanting a remain vote were deflected by them trying to paint the Outers as racist..... (post was inspired by the above post by Sue)
  6. Nigel has probably got private health insurance if he's got any sense because by the time he may need it the NHS will be so overwhelmed with lung cancer and emphysema-ridden Europeans (they ALL smoke- they did not get the intensive anti-smoking education and propaganda that we did and if you speak to them about it they come out with ridiculous excuses that we used to come out with in the '80s)that , along with diabetics- that is all the NHS will be able to afford to treat...the tax-payers' pockets are not a bottomless pit.
  7. Bloody hell- it can copy and paste!
  8. yes- London Bridge station 1992. On the opposite platform from where I got off, just missed the explosion but the tannoy was telling everyone to move quickly to the nearest exit. It was rush hour and everyone was running...can you imagine it today...
  9. I use a deck brush, it has a smaller head longer handle and is very stiff- with the patio cleaner...I used to leave it but nearly came a cropper on a particularly slippery bit on e winter...it all disappears in the spring and summer
  10. Yes but the current threats have been foisted on to us by the vote catching antics of power crazy politicians. Blair did the UK a great disservice in his personal quest https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/pressarticle/83
  11. If you are catering for the 5,000 you should get a couple of them to help you out like I did
  12. It's ideal to turn into a traffic light controlled T junction
  13. There are enough skips around the place....just a thought
  14. Most small shops that sell bread have it delivered so it is the fault of the cafes etc...they should organise a bread delivery for themselves- they would probably get it cheaper that way (unless they have looked into it and found it is not cheaper as the supermarkets could be using bread as a loss leader)
  15. I was there the other day going from Grove Vale to LL and I was positioned over to the right. A car came up on my left and then cut in front of me to go into LL...totally unacceptable.
  16. Also he had been refused asylum in June and was not removed....what an absolute shambles and we are all at risk
  17. I am serious about the bread I eat and I had breakfast including toast in one of the cafes around LL- never again-it was like cotton wool soaked in melted marge.
  18. These bollards were put in place in Birmingham because there was a serious threat given out http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/british-christmas-market-installed-concrete-9487437 After Nice you would think that this method of murder would be factored in to the defense everywhere
  19. (I think KK means cross perpendicular to the pavement) The jaywalking has got worse since the crossings and since the 20mph... And, as Lowlander quite rightly points out the Highway Code is on the side of the pedestrian. There was a case where a completely drunk person wandered into the road in the City, was hit by a car, and it was deemed to be the car driver's fault because he was not careful enough given where he was and the time of night
  20. Pathetic...I used the online booking a couple of years ago. Then if you don't use MY Southwark frequently they take your account away. Is this a ruse to get people to dump more stuff and pay ?16?
  21. Things also get bad for all front line services when the local governments are a different hue from central government- it is a direct indication that we are being used as pawns in their stupid power games.....front line services being used as political footballs...they have no social conscience or intelligence- if they did they would NEVER be politicians.
  22. After attending a few council meetings it became clear that, above all, the party line has to be toed, and objections will arise even though councillors, will ( in one case by his own admission) object even if they do not understand or know anything about the matter in hand

Jah- my really boring post is quite at home in this extremely boring thread....
  24. Pauling
  25. Some tea bags are flimsy and I have accidentally burst them before and not noticed until I get a mouthful of loose tea....I always leave the bag in. And what is it with these companies that market their tea using unbleached paper for the bag? Loose jasmine tea is lovely
