  1. Was it because Ian was sitting next to Jacob Rees-Mogg and you fell for him in a kind of default way?
  2. Yes agree with Red devil- my dad had pebble dashing and some of it 'blew' as he called it...areas had to be removed and re-done or else it just falls off apparently.
  3. no wonder it's ?65 the Echevaria alone have come from Mexico!
  4. Camberwell New cemetery?
  5. It's a pity the crims don't think they are beat bobbies, Pugwash
  6. Well, that was my second experience of seeing PCSOs...my first experience was when I spotted 2 of them sitting on a bench on Peckham Rye chatting....not looking around at all...
  7. Opposite Wetherspoon's Fox on the Hill there is a large amount of running water going down the hill towards Camberwell...
  8. Since the boy is 4 he could probably give some evidence- what the man said etc...and yes the nanny was wrong in not reporting it sooner- the perp may have tried it on somewhere else. This happened a couple of years ago...http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/news/11488408.Woman__attempted_to_snatch__young_girl_at_Bluewater_shopping_centre/?ref=mr The only legitimate reason I can think of that the nanny did not call the police is that she is not bona fide
  9. I was at London bridge station at the height of all the terrorist activity in France and there were 2 cops with guns and 2 PCSOS and they were all in a group facing each other and chatting....what is the point? Although given the nature of the random attacks none of them will be any good until at least one person has been attacked.
  10. The pavement on Sylvester Road will be out of action for 6 months on one side of Crystal Palace Road, then for 6 months on the other side of crystal Palace road....
  11. Yes penguin68 it was bad when my kids were at school....the first incident we had was in 1992 and there was at least one mugging or assault on one of them or their friends every week. Broad daylight attacks in some areas e.g. Lewisham, are common as well- especially when iPods came out- at the time the police issued letters to school kids telling them not to use the distinctive white earphones. Maybe this is why everyone drives their kids to school...
  12. I lived next door to a mum with 2 kids at the same primary as mine- 12 minutes walk away. She drove her kids to school (she did not work btw) but they were always late because of parking. In the end her eldest asked if he could walk with myself and my children because he was sick of being late for school every day. There were lollipop ladies across the busy roads as well....
  13. ratty Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > It was the will of the misinformed people at one > moment in time. Thats about it. How do you know they were misinformed? The people of Wales had a lot of money fro the EU and were told how to use it on hare-brained schemes. Same thing probably happened in the North. Londoners have benefited greatly from the free movement of extremely cheap labour and increases in house prices, and a bottomless pit of renters to fund their 2nd, 3rd etc mortgages. Self-serving bunch of champagne socialists...as per usual
  14. Just one means of removal- https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/key-topics/illegal-immigration in October the Government are offering illegals ?2000 to leave.....
  15. Yes all the 'religious' paraphenalia that is based on plants and fertility are stolen from pre-christianity...it makes more sense to celebrate the wonders and bountry of mother earth than 'the ju-ju man in the sky'. Unfortunately, too many people are plundering these days...the JWs think that on 'the day' the pollution will all disappear..they really are something else.
  16. Things can only get worse. Everytime there is a new development, or houses turned into 2 or 3 flats etc the water has to be pumped at a higher pressure to get to your tap, and it is an uphill journey- as it is hilly around here. The construction around all the London suburbs has ignored the infrastructure problems and the powers that be- i.e. the people that grant the planning permission, are acting in a ridiculous manner imho, and it makes everybody's life a misery....just wait for the next burst water main.
  17. So if a person on benefits spends all 'their' rent money on awful shoddy cheap dangerous fake xmas presents for their kids....I know the money is 'moving around' but.....
  18. I thought it is now possible to locate a mobile phone if so why isn't it being done in order to get this filth and throw the book at them as a deterrent
  19. And how do you know that 'the deal' we have got at the moment is any good? We are being shafted by 750 extra politicians who cost us ?63 million a week- whose annual audit has never been ratified. the current 'deal' is NOT helping the poorer and uneducated - even the Archbishop of Canterbury has said as much- before Theresa May said so.....some of you are extremely verbose and I guess you have had an excellent education but you have no idea what the dispossessed are suffering- especially as they watch their kids sink into a life of drugs or petty crime....
  20. Don't forget the people voted for a government that promised a referendum...
  21. my doormat was stolen this year.....xmas wreath wouldn't last 5 minutes...
  22. fortunately I am good with the 'mute' button and I am avoiding shops since everyone is wandering around with bad colds etc and spreading their germs. There are so many fake and substandard goods around as well....just going to ignore the whole sorry palaver
  23. autopoeisis- living cells can maintain themselves by chemical reactions
  24. that's a London Plane- not a 'fat tree'....it has more claim on the environment than we have
