  1. The only way to resolve the issues is to ban cars on the road at peak times (no car pollution that way as well) and just have buses. London is so overcrowded with the well-off that there are 4x4 s on tiny roads it is a joke- especially from the point of view of the pollution as we already been informed
  2. Just make sure you wear a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches...
  3. KK you should try having them turn up in your classroom for a few days. Given that this country ALWAYS puts the pupils in their own age group regardless of their level of education, the disruption is unacceptable.
  4. Oh I see the crane thing is nowhere near the bridge- don't know then- you could go and investigate
  5. Tower bridge is closed for 3 months for repairs (see TFL website) so maybe it is something to do with that? Be grateful it does not appear to be a permanent construction
  6. The OP was not a wind up. Being poked in the eye by some bushes in the dark is no fun uncleglen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Whilst we are on the subject of space- it would be > very considerate of those who have hedges to trim > them back to their property border because I am > sick of not being able to walk down some streets > with my partner without nipping into the road > every 100 yards. And that was in May 2013...it is a problem around here and if there is dog mess as well...I thought that because of the 2012 olympics we were all supposed to be trying to keep active...my son is 6'3" and there are loads of bushes he has to duck under. BTW- didn't have time to do the above but my annoyance has been rekindled...
  7. It seems there is a strong negative correlation between the usefulness to society of your job and the value of your bling.
  8. They are probably flogging it on ebay judging by the state of the creased and tatty stuff that some people try to sell
  9. 1830- just as it's getting dark...in the dark the light from the phone will attract thieves. I bet the thieving scum can't wait for you know when.
  10. I'm not surprised- and if they do have a problem then JD are entitled to do whatever it takes, especially since decent running shoes are ?100ish
  11. Car park on Peckham rye, or the BelAir park car park maybe? Also they may only operate a skeleton service over the weekend as I daresay they would receive higher wages for anti-social working hours
  12. They are under a lot of pressure- mainly from population density

    Christmas

The way we live today- the food and drink is available all year round- so we spend the whole year keeping the pounds at bay, struggling against over-indulgence- and then bing for 12 days...lunacy!
  15. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/6018081/One-in-three-road-accidents-happen-a-mile-from-home-survey-says.html As regards pedestrians being safer in 20mph zones, I noticed that whilst driving in 20mph zones I am distracted whilst poodling along, and will look around more often, and take less notice of the road. I have lived around here for 35 years and there are many things I have noticed that I have never noticed before. But on the plus side, if someone runs out in front of me and I hit them they will be less injured. And if someone is doing 35-40 mph and hits someone or something they will be easily convicted- no grey areas there.
  16. And so it goes on and on... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1603219
  17. Just think if Anthony Crosland hadn't been so short-sighted, Honor Oak girl's grammar school would still be in Homestall Road
  18. Sounds like Richard Dawkins is making a good recovery. He is the bravest man in the world
  19. Isn't a chin up bar heavy metal?- therefore it being metal should be re-cycled, and perhaps it could mangle the mechanism of the lorry- after all shredded paper has to be in a paper bag to be recycled so I was reliably informed
  20. Their bread is rubbish- they must have employed someone to investigate how much air you can pump into bread before it collapses....also- what is that horrible sour smell in their shops...I have been in several with other people and they all smell weird?
  21. In order to have a proper socialistic society, everyone must pull their weight- which means imposing government policy on personal freedoms.
  22. I agree- it looks identical to the wiki one
