  1. I knew it was the beginning of the end when they banned jumping crackers. Every year my dad would set off a jumping cracker near my mum and she would be running around the garden like a headless chicken while it went off. The day after Guy Fawkes we would go and collect up all the rockets that had landed in the streets, empty the leftover gunpowder into a pile and set light to it.....very disappointing
  2. could be anything http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/conditions/sexual-health/a2220/lack-of-sex-drive-in-women-lack-of-libido/
  3. Then you can boil up the turkey bones with some sliced onions and herbs (or pressure cook them), strain thoroughly...mmmmhhh
  4. I think Phlox has hit the nail on the head- it is the speed bumps- it's like driving on a dried up rutted dirt track- especially now we are down to 20mph everywhere. Also it's a safety issue- at least bull bars were banned....that's why when you are in a side road a 4 x 4 will aim at you and not give way- because the driver knows who will come off worst.
  5. During a discussion with one of them the subject of the environment came up. One of them said 'Don't worry about that, when Armageddon comes the whole earth will be cleansed'- What a cop out!...also they believe that the anointed ones will be 30 years old forever. And they ask if you have children- at which point I ask them if they have children- and how come they aren't with them on a Sunday morning?.... ( btw a new word on me- 'eschatology')
  6. Willard is right- even busy roads on the South Circular are free to use 10-4. I cannot recall anywhere in Southwark that has bus lanes that aren't 7am -7pm. Cash cows methinks
  7. these things happen http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/girl-3-killed-unsafe-wall-2060092
  8. My friend had a blood donor sticker in her front door glass- worked a treat. Since they succeeded in dividing my family I use their visits to rant. They are totally insidious- they actually sent two of their congregation to sit at my nephew's bedside after a serious accident in which he lost a lot of blood, to make sure he didn't have a transfusion- and he wasn't even baptised or whatever they do to become a fully-fledged deluded individual.

Just about sums it up.
  10. Totally predictable after the council introduced the charge. The next day a whole pile of old stuff was dumped in Barry Road
  11. They said on the BBC news yesterday that his art collection is being sold for the benefit of his family.
  12. the house at the end will be responsible for the end fence, then the next house will be responsible for the next fence and so on....
  13. The other thing that can put your house at risk is if you have neighbours with large vans that they park outside YOUR house instead of their own.
  14. Anything by Slayer or Cannibal Corpse, or Cemetary Sickness by Desecration. Black Sabbath.
  15. I wouldn't feel too guilty about depriving cancer patients and others of ?20 - the research labs use students on a placement year at little or no pay (they can still get their loan) to do a lot of the work - students are desperate for work experience in top hospitals and labs. The hospices may very well use students on BTEC courses as the care homes do.
  16. I have a neighbour who regularly allows his friends to park their cars outside my house usually, when they go on holiday (they probably live on some less than salubrious estate somewhere judging by what he is like). I haven't got a drive so there is nothing I can do about it.
  17. The man looking through the letter boxes was obviously looking for keys on view. Why didn't the lady who lives nearby get the car registration ...taking someone's post is a criminal offence...
  18. Ferrero Rocher is awful- Raphaello is much nicer
  19. It is not a class warfare issue- it is one of common sense. Why should flying be subsidised to such an extent? It is ridiculous given that oil is a finite resource and a massive pollutant and very inefficient as a fuel. What is so special about the aviation industry? It is irrational imo
  20. Making sure ALL council tax is paid in would be a start....council tax arrears- then maybe councils might be able to afford to maintain services instead of blaming central government for shortfalls. All this posturing is a big waste of money- consultations ffs- the only beneficiaries are the consultants!
  21. The Government (i.e the tax payer) subsidises aviation to the tune of ?10 billion a year because there is no tax on aviation fuel, and no VAT on tickets. Ironically, most people who fly are the well-off who take frequent weekend breaks and holidays compared with your average traveller who flies once a year. Business flying has reduced in recent years. What a stupid situation. The reason they chose Heathrow is because the runway will take 10 years or so to build, and by then it will be necessary to build another- at Gatwick. Since transport links to the North are being improved why don't they just build a new airport in the North- after all trains and roads run in both directions!
  22. Charcoal grey is much classier than navy imho and the black shoes would be fine as would the silvery tie (especially since it's coming up to the X word) o/c= obsessive/compulsive according to the NHS we can 'Sign Up To Safety' https://www.england.nhs.uk/signuptosafety/how-to-sign-up/ I was going to sign up to one of the coffee courses- I suppose I should have said 'enrolled on one of these'
  23. Many champagne socialists of the Corbynite camp use the Co-op.... I think the Archbishop of Canterbury summed it up when he said the poor suffer under mass immigration. And the poor may also be poorly educated and unable to hold their own in this debate- which is dominated by the verbosity of the hysterical middle-classes, who, in the main, branded them racist- completely out of hand.
  24. Bloody pathetic...it's a waste of OUR money btw!
  25. Deffo a tie...Pink, or silvery, with a navy suit. Black shoes of course- well polished. You do not need new things, just make sure everything is laundered nicely. Just for the record, people ask me about spelling and grammar and I know I am o/c about it...
