I would never go to a major event in London after getting caught up in the fireworks crowd one New Year by accident coming back from Camden. It is horrendous trying to escape- we were shunted about 2 miles in a circle to a station, not allowed to cut down backroads- it was the most horrible experience.....we tried to go back into Waterloo station to get a tube to the Elephant and weren't allowed to ...it was like a wartime evacuation- no thanks

I have worked in catholic schools (secondaries) in south london and i can assure you that homophobia is very much alive and well and goes unchallenged. Clinical waste is in yellow bags and containers. If you put shredded paper in the blue bin it should be in paper bags as the paper shreds can get stuck in the machinery of the bin lorry so I'm told.

Sometimes people are scared to report anti-social behaviour because if the miscreants know your address they may take retribution. I once reported something, and even though at least 4 houses would have been affected by the nuisance, it was my car that got vandalised several times. So, James, do the noise or environment team tell the nuisances who reported them?

The scooters must have licence plates so the cops could track them down if they've got the registration. I don't think the cops can chase them because it is dangerous for the scooter maniacs and passers by and anyway, cops in cars cannot nip onto estates and into parks etc. If they track them down they should confiscate the scooters imo

I thought their actions today were selfish and thoughtless. Life is very different in the UK because we do not have guns around. If they want to show solidarity they should go to the US and do it- ironically all the gang-banging stuff that we have here is copied from the USA In the UK there is positive discrimination in the public sector and there has been for many years, especially in the allocation of housing and jobs. I was working in a large department store on Saturdays and there was a particular expensive item that cost exactly ?5. It was very busy and twice (because that's all I sold, the item being very expensive for the time) people gave me the exact ?5 and left without the receipt, so I trousered the money.....the company is still in business so I suppose I didn't harm it long term. AND they were slave drivers...

I was in Sainsburys and a woman was feeding her son and herself from the pre-weighed bags of grapes...I reported them to an assistant who went and spoke to the mum...she came over and threatened me- I could not wipe the smile off my face at her reaction ..so there is a chance that Louisa may have an underweight bag of grapes anyway.
