Some years ago I left my teenagers at home and went on holiday. They were both over 18. They decided to have a party and it went on late on a Saturday night. A neighbour called the police and they came to the house and threatened to confiscate the sound equipment if they were called out again. Does no-one have this power- it seems the obvious solution?

Re-nationalisation is not good. There was wholesale fraud going on in the public transport sector before privatisation- I know that for a fact...the tax payer was footing the bill so who cared? Not the person taking a back -hander for a contract, and not his boss either. Compulsory Competitive Tendering went a long way to address the problems inherent in the public ownership of services, both at local council level and in transport etc

Anyway there are a hard core of social tenants who do not pay rent because they know they will get away with it...and in the past courts have ruled and the tenants in arrears have to pay the arrears back 50p a week out of their benefits....this whole country is being exploited by free-loaders
