  1. I agree with Mick Mac- Gove is henpecked- his wife is probably round at no. 10 measuring up as we type. Gove has repeatedly said in the past he isn't PM material. Theresa May is a Remainer ....Liam Fox is a Catholic and voted against Same-Sex Marriages. I reckon the Remainers know that Gove is probably unpopular with the membership, and whispered in his ear. They want Theresa May hoping that the unthinkable will happen and she will try and p*ss on the majority 17.5 million Leave voters ...Come Back Boris...
  2. As I pointed out in the Lounge- the turnout was 24.2% and 91% voted for strike action. As a teacher myself and a Union Officer for 20 years I think the Sickness thing refers to long-term illness or Disability and Statutory Sick Leave rather than odd days off for whatever reason, because if a teacher has several short term absences through sickness he/she is questioned about it. I don't know about other schools but there seems to be a tendency to employ NQTs or Teach First applicants because they are cheap- obviously these young teachers will be easily overwhelmed if not managed properly (and they are not in many cases)- the older staff may become senior managers - less time in the class room and more time dreaming up more (usually unnecessary) paperwork for the less experienced- NQTs and young teachers will not speak up because they do not want to draw attention to themselves (read into that what you will). And they will also NOT speak up when they are having difficulties with behaviour management because senior and line managers have a tendency to blame the teacher's approach etc if the class is not working appropriately. Also, the micro-management that is going on today is an absolute insult to many teachers who come into the profession full of enthusiasm and energy, and older teachers who have tried, tested and successful methods, only to be told what to do every minute of the day, become bored and leave. This is extremely stressful in itself. Also, you can blame David Blunkett for Inclusion....which has disadvantaged EVERY child imvho
  3. While you're at it, you can report the black teen calling his black mate 'you f-ing stupid n***er' at the top of his voice in Lewisham town centre yesterday!
  4. Yes traffic snarled up down that end a bit...also massive caravan/coaches and a 185 parked up at the back of Sainsbury's car park
  5. Here you are for those of you that don't subscribe http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/family/2016/06/martins-reaction-to-brexit?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=28-Jun-16-v2&utm_campaign=msetip&utm_content=2

    Why?

Reporters- steer well clear- they'll have your soul
  7. I've always thought that Dulwich was the whole area protected by the Dulwich College Estate rules and regulations as regards buildings and development. Unfortunately, East Dulwich is not protected by any such rules so there are carbuncles (you may call them extensions...) appearing all over the Victorian houses.
  8. So our credit rating is now on a par with France, Belgium, New Zealand, China, Abu Dhabi, Austria, Finland, Kuwait Saudi.....the end is nigh
  9. It's probably about the football ffs
  10. And I suppose this wasn't misleading? http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/08/sadiq-khan-london-fares-promise-public-transport-mayor-election For goodness sake- ALL politicians will spin, lie, deceive to get what they want- they react to the will of the perceived majority in their quest for votes. And while they are spinning and squirming, they employ people to dig dirt on others. As far as doing what is best for humanity, the LAST people who should have any control over that are the power hungry, vote-seeking politicians. An example of the lunacy surrounding politics is the fact that we are STILL paying 'faith' schools from the public purse when they actively encourage homophobia and intolerance and ignorance.....NO politician in the UK has stood up against this farcical situation
  11. Oh so you are all members of the Tory party then, since you are in a position to block Boris....
  12. He could be referring to this http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/20/leader-of-pro-eu-campaign-accused-of-morally-unacceptable-plot-t/ (the cannabis addled his brain I daresay)
  13. The Post office on lordship lane has a travel counter
  14. pathetic http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/europe/01/16/chocolate.war/
  15. I said-'you people spit on them'...meaning that some people who voted to stay actually referred to the leavers as 'morons', well, I would have said p*ss on them but that is rude.... It appears theer has been some dodgy goings on surrounding 'the' petition. And not everything you read is true- do you all remember 'happy-slapping'- yes well.....when it comes to politics, it's a free-for-all
  16. After someone has been arrested they will soon realise that this type of thing is against the 1998 Act of the UK and is not EU legislation.
  17. Costa etc will have to set up barista training courses for our school leavers and students
  18. There is a plan- it's all laid out in the EU rules and regulations etc....since we signed up to the EU (and Lisbon-what a con...that's when the rot set in...) we signed up to the rules about the exit. It will all be there- there are enough academics involved in EU law and politics that there will be no shortage of consultants. While all that is going on over 2 years or so, the Government will be able to formulate a strategy.
  19. I didn't see the English kicking up after the 2005 General Election( see the map)..should have been a stark warning since the only reason Labour got in was because of Scotland and Wales https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_general_election,_2005
  20. The same turnout as the general Election UK wide (England was slightly lower) Some people just don't care, probably because their ?1 million pound homes will only loose 18% of their value according to all the other scare-mongers.
  21. 8m people did not vote for whatever reason. The Spanish are going to hold a general Election because of the Brexit...I expect they will elect the person who will kick out the expats.....and then watch their economy go down the tubes quicker. Unless they are worried about all their under 25s who are in the UK...and there are a lot of them... It was interesting to note that 40% of Scots want to leave the EU- I know that their young people are finding it very difficult to get places in prestigious unis because of the attraction of no fees to EU students. Our young people probably do not know enough to make an informed decision, most of them are influenced by the sensational, emotive junk on social media. The following stats from the Telegraph are very telling http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/24/eu-referendum-how-the-results-compare-to-the-uks-educated-old-an/ Given the demographic of the EDF, and London as a whole, it is no surprise there is such strength of feeling....I was not surprised by the result because as the Archbishop of Canterbury said a few weeks ago- it is always the poor and uneducated (thanks to Lsbour's Crosland destroying grammar schools, and failing to equip our young people with a trade), who suffer under rises in immigration. And this is the first time those who have been dispossessed have been able to express their feelings- and you people spit on them
  22. What a surprise- cashing in already http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/26/lib-dems-pledge-british-return-eu-next-general-election
  23. How many people who have signed the petition would actually be entitled to vote?
  24. Never been on a booze cruise, never felt the need to over-indulge to that extent personally so quite happy to pay UK prices.
