  1. Since GP surgeries have announced in the media that they are close to breaking point, they now have carte blanche to carry on like this... http://www.gponline.com/london-gps-breaking-point-third-practices-consider-closing/article/1402492

    Christmas

The eve of the winter solstice was celebrated as 'Modraniht' which is what is supposed to be the now Christmas eve....so you could bring it forward a few days if you are not convinced about Jesus's birth
  3. It was written at 4.32am- no wonder
  4. Watch out for the 3rd one- they always come in threes.
  5. Cats crap in the gardens of people who do not have cats- like me and RPC (?). This is because cats are pets for lazy people who train them NOT to crap in their own garden There are lots of cat owners in ED judging from the Lost and Found and that thread on the cat killers so most people would not post about cat poo since they are guilty of the production of tonnes of it (not to mention the death of 250 million songbirds a year and toads etc). Anthropomorphism will be the death of us all.....
  6. He is generous at the Fox with 2.5 hours- there are some where you only get 1 hour free for parking if you eat in the pub
  7. Spot on miga- or if you are a jazz fan you could listen to Tommy Igoe Groove Conspiracy at Monterey http://www.montereyjazzfestival.org/artists/tommy-igoe-groove-conspiracy
  8. I was there this week and it is now 2.5 hours- I had to look twice because I always thought it was 3 hours...but it definitely says 2.5 hours now...
  9. I was the same because the vegetarians in my house eat all that processed veggie food- even pink stuff that looks like bacon...how is that vegetarian? I use a pressure cooker for beans cheap meat etc I used to cook all these things from scratch but then about 5 years ago I discovered frozen chopped onions, peppers and mushrooms...instant stir fry, egg fried rice (after I discovered microwaveable brown rice)...takes 5 minutes instead of half an hour.....an extra 25 minutes for marking and prep....
  10. they probably stole the mopeds as well

Given that politicians are power crazy, vote-seeking self-serving brainless fools in the main- and the prime objective is toeing the party line and keeping the power- there are no grown-ups. I myself walked the walk and talked the talk on 2 occasions, and managed to get myself ensconced and 'powerful' twice in left-wing circles- I soon realised what the heck was going on during the first sortie- the second sortie was purely out of self-interest, but I was successful- despite being a dyed-in-the-wool Tory
  12. she probably means 'genteel' getting it mixed up with the French 'gentille'
  13. I think it is hilarious- just how footie used to be...Clapton F.C was my favourite ground back in the day....
  14. Trying to put Battersea out of business?
  15. why would you need beer in the stadium- there is a pub every 100 yards!
  16. Anything below 4 should be inspected after a week and closed down if there is no improvement- I wonder how many people get takeaway after a night in the pub, get sick and blame the alcohol, when in fact it is the dodgy takeaway?
  17. you are joking! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1550036/Fraud-fear-as-millions-of-NI-numbers-are-lost.html
  18. Hove is cheap
  19. That is a dodgy place, as is the left turn at the next set of lights up DK Hill. If you wait until you get to the dashed line, which you are supposed to do- other vehicles will undertake you and you can have trouble getting over to the left However- if all the undertakers get tickets then everyone will have to wait for the dashed line won't they....and more money for Southwark's coffers...
  20. They are protected... https://www.mcsuk.org/downloads/wildlife/turtlecode.pdf
  21. Apparently Govia are getting 2 awards .....highly commended for its passenger experience (just the one then) http://www.crawleynews.co.uk/govia-thameslink-railway-receive-2-awards-and-are-highly-commended-for-passenger-experience/story-29449093-detail/story.html
  22. So the thieves know about this new move by TFL and hover around the bus stops now.....
  23. My aunt lived in Isleworth and I had to stay there as a young child in the '60s- before the double glazing etc....it was horrendous
  24. Over 120 Conservative MPs said they were voting leave and at least 10 Labour ones including Kate Hoey, Frank Skinner and Frank Field,- hopefully representing the views of their constituents rather than toeing the party line which is what Labour politicians do all the time. The more some of us found out about the ridiculous goings on in the EU the more likely we were to vote leave. This article summed it up for me http://labour-uncut.co.uk/tag/lucy-ashton/
  25. Wetherspoon's Lavazza filter coffee (is the Fox on the Hill in ED?) If not- make my own Taste the Difference Colombian in the cafetiere ..nothing else hits the spot imho
