  1. It's a very misleading figure the BBC should be ashamed for not checking how misleading the figures are and the absurdity of the language of their reporting given the real situation
  2. How about Albion given the upcoming election
  3. (The fascist 'root' seems to have made up his/her narrow mind that the leavers are sub-human one way or another....) I am voting leave because an organisation that sits back, watches a million at least, or so, of other EU citizens descend upon the UK and then has the bare-face thieving cheek to fine us for breaching pollution levels year in, year out, and it has not had it's own finances ratified on audit for 19 years- is less than trustworthy. The EU machine is out of control- it operates under some kind of Kafka-esque inhumane power crazy blinkered administration- swallowing up our money and no accountability- and it is stupid to think that if we are out of it anything much will change, since before it existed we all traveled around quite easily. Most of the people who want to remain are self-serving trogladytes- politicians who want a job in the EU for a start
  4. ..and just think...if your daughter follows in your footsteps you could be a granny at 34! (younger than most of the mums around here I daresay...)
  5. It's a very deep part of the Pacific Ocean if I recall....
  6. I remember the photos about parts of Spain being covered in poly tunnels... http://www.theguardian.com/world/2005/sep/21/spain.gilestremlett We are the third largest customer apparently (and that was in 2005), I think they need us more than we need them....so I'm voting to leave...
  7. It was interesting to note that on the subject of the gender difference that was found as regards pocket money this week, I caught some kind of expert saying that the reason that boys get more is that they will negotiate whereas girls will just take what is given to them...this of course spreads into the workplace where women do not argue their corner...a psychologist friend said that women will be labelled a negative 'pushy' and men will be praised as 'assertive' in the same circumstances.... Good luck finding something
  8. The front door has got a massive yellow bin in front of it today
  9. The reason for these early morning cancellations and re-routing Danielson was because a train had broken down on the track between South Bermondsey and Queen's road. So Eders went to Forest Hill and fortunately there is a 176 night bus.
  10. It's great- there is (was) building dust EVERYWHERE in ED and my grass was looking dry...so as it is the only rain forecast for the next 2 weeks at least- make the most of it- and as the old saying goes- there is no such thing as bad weather- just inappropriate clothing....
  11. Stroppy kid in class leaning back on the chair's back legs and arguing with the teacher- then the chair legs give way, and best of all, the rest of the kids laughed at her
  12. I saw one on eBay in south wales...it's residential. There are residential parks everywhere- High Wycombe, nr Bracknell

    Knickers

One of them used to wear really frilly ones.....
  14. Here are the London MEPs http://www.europarl.org.uk/en/your-meps/uk_meps/london_region.html And what a waste of oxygen and food they all are. The EU has NEVER in the last 19 years passed it's audit http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/11209248/EU-auditors-refuse-to-sign-off-more-than-100billion-of-its-own-spending.html- for an example of the abject horror of the brake-less gravy train From what I've seen it operates in much the same way as the old USSR- where the party faithful get the perks and everyone else can go and queue up for 2 weeks for a loaf of bread. We in London are well-off- there is absolute drug-fuelled misery elsewhere in this country- but the left do not care as long as they get the votes. As the Archbishop of Canterbury said- it is the poor that bears the brunt of uncontrolled immigration.
  15. The population of London has increased by one third in the last 35 years and projected to increase by 1 million in the next 10 years. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/industry/engineering/11529330/The-fall-and-rise-of-Britains-car-industry.html The car industry is not going anywhere- at least Ford has spent ?1.5 billion on low emission technology as it says in the article and I know a lot has been spent on reducing particulates from diesel engines I tried to do without a car for several years for the benefit of the environment and it resulted in my family doing without me for an extra 2.5 hours a day instead of 45 minutes travelling time to and from work. I gave up my lone 'crusade' because no-one else was worried about wasting fossil fuels- so why should I?
  16. As I pointed out elsewhere Loz- the EU does have a finger in the EBU pie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Broadcasting_Union Eurovision and the EU are very similar They are both corrupt to the core They both swallow up loads of money (16million Swiss francs was the contribution Romania was supposed to make to the EBU) They are both talentless bodies full of hot air We can do without both of them
  17. Everyone has left overs at some time, and I've always had a conscience about throwing them away unless they are likely to be off, so Nigel opened my eyes to greater possibilities.
  18. Nigel Slater is the only one I can 'stomach', all that using up leftovers- man after my own heart
  19. Anyone who has not been aware for at least the last 10 years that pollution in London is bad has been living in a bubble- the fact that Boris didn't make it known is neither here nor there because others have published endless data- and we get fined every year by the EU for breaching the levels....even though the pollution from foreign lorries and cars increases year on year.
  20. Many a true word is spoken in jest.....
  21. I thought 'peeps' came from Stavros the Greek kebab shop owner (Harry Enfield), not turkish?
  22. With reference to what I've seen there appears to be a lot of conversion flats for sale so maybe the houses are being split to make an extra few quid for the developers....
  23. DaveR is right- the Headteacher should determine what goes on in the school and the less money spent on town hall bureaucracy, thus depriving the 'chalk face' -the better
  24. I saw him in the Sainsbury's years ago - before GoT so he's been local for a while.
  25. If you knew the amount of expenses claims, and the nature of them, that goes on at Union level your eyes would water....
