  1. There was a woman in the car park in Croydon asking people for 20p for her bus fare to see her sick sister. She was there the following week asking the same thing from everyone who passed her. Say she gets 20p from most people- steady flow back and forth from the lift to the car park all day and they only come and go once a week probably, she could amass not much short of ?40 a day by my calculations...and before you ask, no, I did not contribute.
  2. Yes singalto me too....there was a student I taught in the gcse year. She was barely literate and was hopeless at maths. She asked for her parents' evening reports to be sent home as her parents couldn't attend...the reason was that they were buying a new Merc...I thought of only they had spent some money on a tutor for her (she was not statemented or anything)- still she probably has 10 kids and all the designer gear by now!
  3. Lone female subjected to a robbery by 2 males late at night- very polite- oh that's ok then....what planet is this, pray?
  4. I think (I may be wrong) that Germany staggers school holidays so that not everyone is moving around at the same time
  5. I was under the impression that he just damaged the airstrip- quite right too
  6. I saw a programme about Benefits some months ago. Single mum with 8 kids and no sign of their father(s). She was ?1000 in arrears with her rent to the council and was very proud of the fact that she had a large cupboard full of tatty plastic (Frozen and other Disney paraphernalia) which she had bought for her kids' Xmas pressies. She was also hoping for a larger council house but thought she wouldn't get one because of the arrears. Anyway the council gave her a larger house and wrote off the debt! There was another programme in the same series who entered her child (about 8 years old) for beauty pageants and thought nothing of spending hundreds of pounds on hair braids... And then you have young disabled people still living at home with elderly parents and not entitled to housing benefit or their own homes...
  7. It's a good idea to have absolute Freedom of Speech and Expression Ephesians 6: vs 11-12 Know Thy Enemy etc..... JohnL libturd is THE word now
  8. So predictable rrr https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/about-us

What do you mean 'of course' -makes no sense. Surely post-Brexit there will be less competition for jobs (assuming free movement is stopped) so less need for zero hours contracts. Zero hours contracts have always been used as a stick to beat the Tories with..... The only time I worked under a similar set up was for the ILEA when Ken Livingstone was in charge....people were relentlessly exploited
  10. Ever since Blair the Labour party has tried to grab ethnic votes https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/pressArticle/83 As a perennial cynic I believe the Labour party has been trying to ingratiate itself with the muslim community.
  11. Yes and government has enabled even more segregation funded by the tax payer http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37314149 I was appalled at the level of openly anti-gay comments from students and total absence of pastoral material on LGBT matters when addressing Equality issues in faith schools I have taught in. It was like stepping back to the 1970s. I feel deep sympathy for any student who goes to a faith school and discovers that he/she is gay.....
  12. Should be an automatic exclusion but there are some slack senior staff in my extensive experience. Unforunately there are some heads that view their school as a safe haven for kids with a dubious home /street life and do not want to involve the police. Obviously the less street wise kids will suffer and will not feel safe. Please follow it up strenuously
  13. Series 3 of Better Call Saul starts April 11th.....
  14. Household recycling rates will flat-line as there is only a finite amount of stuff that can be recycled e.g massive polystyrene slabs from boxed electrical goods cannot. It is up to the individual to address this issue (like many others we blame the nanny state for) but when, for example, builders just dump their sandwich and drink containers in a plastic carrier on to the road and drive away what hope is there?
  15. Yes it is illegal- but if they are not English they may not know the law. All builders etc would do it if it was allowed- it obviously saves a lot of money in proper waste disposal. I've had run-ins with builders before and the foremen in question were English and when spoken to about infringements they used the general builders'lack of English as an excuse.
  16. I was out of London for some days recently for the first time in a while and was gobsmacked at the politeness and the profusion of untouched flowers on roadsides and in public places. National Kindness is de rigueur outside London....
  17. Obviously johnnie. The well educated, well off, are benefiting greatly from free movement, cheap building workers (?20 a day vs ?200 a day for 'electricians e.g.), not to mention massive increase in house prices. Young people are not affected by queues in the NHS, lack of school places etc and the well off can pay for health care if necessary. Just as the well off are not affected by Labour governments that treat the tax payers' pockets like bottomless pits, the well educated well off have NO idea about what is going on in the rest of the country.
  18. Lloyds of London (NOT to be confused with Lloyds bank)is a bunch of insurance brokers sitting in a building in the square mile- where they work from does not matter. All that matters is that the 'names' underwrite the risks. The building is horrible and started the trend of vile architecture dominating the London skyline https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lloyd%27s_of_London
  19. 'That which does not kill us, serves to make us stronger'- Nietzsche.....maybe the EU had a purpose after all
  20. Peace and prosperity, clean air, workers' rights? ...I missed all that ...
  21. I wonder why Blair converted to catholicism- I thought people got older and wiser....
  22. old ones cease in October
  23. Patrick Cockburn is the worst kind of liberal. Everything he says is a veiled attack on Theresa May and the Brexit vote. He is nauseating. In England it seems, everyone is allowed to be nationalistic and praise their own culture- even to the extent of getting public money to fund it, and live in their own enclaves and eat their own types of food but if Brits do it in Spain for example, they are criticised (whilst their pension money props up the local economies)- and if you Brits have the audacity to show a Cross of St George you are racist, narrow minded, a football hooligan... etc etc. I personally know some Europeans, and I dare say there are more of them, who are abusing wholesale our benefits system. The 'single mother' and child in the council flat, receiving housing benefit etc. renting out the bedroom and sitting room to others. The child's father bedding down during the week with his builder mates in a separate flat and seeing his wife at the weekend. Large amounts of money sent out of the UK every month to fund their property in another European capital city. No wonder they are crying .....
  24. never seen so many dead males on the motorways over the weekend....maybe moving into town is a good idea.
  25. The rules used to be (the last time I needed them for an anti-social neighbour who ignored our pleas)- and before the introduction of the garden waste bin. 1 bonfire per month that burns for 1 hour at dusk - that was it I agree with tomskip that no-one should need to burn garden waste.
