  1. Here's one potential http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/29/grenfell-fraud-man-arrested-suspicion-claiming-had-lost-family/
  2. I second the hedge suggestion- some of you lazy whatsnames deserve to get burgled. Thieves and chancers soon respond when they know an area is well off. I remember when the P4 was diverted to run down Court Lane- there was a rise in burglary- the locals said it was because the people on the bus going from Brixton to Lewisham were casing the joints.
  3. The Unions prop up the Labour Party. It is in the interests of the Labour Party to cause as much misery on the front line i.e. to the general public when they are in opposition. Therefore the public services are used as a political football when Labour is in opposition. The railway system is privatised but the Labour Party want it to go back into public ownership so again it is in the interests of the Labour Party to get its Unions to cause more and more misery for the customer. No-one is made to do overtime but it suits them to earn the extra money- the behaviour is akin to 'withdrawal of goodwill' that we operated in schools some years ago where teachers refused to do any task that was not strictly laid down in the job- i.e. helping students at lunchtime, breaktime after school, sports clubs, etc- the difference being that teachers were NEVER paid for it. Preventing people from getting to their occupations is undermining the whole of society- but then that is what this bunch of treacherous lefties is all about imvho
  4. Part of the cost of the border issue swill need to be stumped up by the EU since it is their border. I'm not licking any wounds over here on the pragmatic 'right' - common sense will, and thankfully, is,despite the noisy rabble on the left- prevailing- we cannot afford a Labour government and all it stands for.
  5. All unions want improved pay and conditions regardless of whether the situation of their members is better or worse than others. As someone who has worked in the public sector and the private sector in the same type of job I can say that we are being held to ransom by the unions. Public sector workers have a grand old time both in work and when they retire but they act like they are privileged. There should be no strike rules - why should the police be the only area of the public sector where this applies? FYI I don't know the ins and outs, but I do know that the EU has some control over the railways and has issued directives and regulations I expect with a view to enabling ease of access across the EU transport systems. A relative is a member of a Transport union and they were advised to vote Leave because of the interference in our systems by 'Europe'
  6. Since neither of them gained an outright majority (although Theresa May got a larger share of the votes this time than David Cameron when he won last time) then it is not strictly necessary for them to adhere to their manifesto. Any way I don't begrudge Northern Ireland the money- it is spread over 2 years and they will need it to sort out their border after Brexit There is a breakdown on the spending plans down the page http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/26/arlene-foster-meet-theresa-may-finalise-dup-deal-prop-tory-minority/
  7. What's the difference between paying NI ?1bn (they ALL benefit not just protestants) and Corbyn bribing students with no uni fees? Every student would be gifted ?36,000 potentially, as they would take full advantage and go for the max.- ?9,000 a year each for 4 years. The cost of tuition is probably a lot higher so they are already being subsidised- it actually costs ?360,000 to train a doctor for example. The UK cannot afford Corbyn and his ilk
  8. Brekkie in the Fox on the Hill then have a walk around Ruskin Park- the new mallards are out and about- it's very quiet in the morning. Wetherspoons opens at 8. Endless filter coffee...
  9. Have you got all-singing , all-dancing security? Even without an alarm or cctv, following all the specs for door locks, window locks etc lowered mine.
  10. Our electricty and gas boxes are outside- I hope they draw attention away from the cats' poo regularly deposited in my front garden
  11. How do you know the scottish tories won't go for a hard brexit BB- this may explain why they attracted votes http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/universityeducation/11428014/Scots-losing-out-on-university-places-to-EU-students.html
  12. Hopefully if you republicans get your way then the crown estates will be preserved https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Estate

Talking of political Neanderthals- I see your brown-nosing pal Corbyn is at Glastonbury whilst Theresa May is in Liverpool for Armed Forces Day..... says it all really

All the terrorism stuff aside, the DUP are loyalists and Sinn Fein (which probably accounts for majority of the 56% soft brexiteers) are not, therefore it makes sense to join with the DUP. And as for anti-abortionist and homophobes etc- that applies even more so to Catholics etc. Corbyn is a terrorism apologist, (as is John McDonnell) and has shown himself to be an agitator feeding off the misery of the Grenfell tower disaster.
  15. They look like kilts- a lot of schools have tartan skirts so I personally can't see a problem with boys opting to wear these. Bacon's College have a nice tartan At my secondary school boys had to wear shorts summer and winter until they reached the third year
  16. the best chips are made by Wetherspoons imho
  17. She didn't get a majority because of the fox-hunting in the manifesto....social media is as big on 'let's all hug a bunny, fox, give up meat, legalise dope ..'etc, as it is on 'I don't want to pay my uni fees'
  18. Queens of the Stone Age- No-One Knows Most stuff by the Foo fighters
  19. The root cause is lack of forward planning and consideration for the utilities when building and conversion work is being done. Each dwelling has to have a separate mains supply and it is hilly around here. The water then has to be pumped at extra pressure therefore and the pipes give out. A normal sized house near North X road was converted and there was a boast of 5 bathrooms on the board outside.

Any other ideas out there? Be careful- that reminds me of an episode of CSI when somebody did that and the block of ice melted and the water caused the floor to be electrified as the power point was in a pool of water and the guy died.....

    Brexit View

I agree with keano77- the article is biased and from German so was probably instigated by Merkel as they are scared stiff that France and Germany are going to have to make up the shortfall. The whole tone of Juncker and others is obviously that of toys being thrown out of the pram. The EU will NEVER have a reasonable debate- it is so up itself that it will just carry on demanding.
  23. As someone who had 2 family members that were dairy farmers in Wiltshire put out of business in the 1970s I never begrudge paying more for British dairy produce.....
  24. Some years ago, it was at the same time as school returned in September, there was a burst main and it got to the point where bowsers were put on street corners- I expect that is the worst case. There is probably a thread on it here somewhere
  25. as my 40 year old next door neighbour said- god gave me a mouth I'm going to use it!!
