  1. There has also been a very noticeable increase in the smell of burning wood in the last couple of years....
  2. It is illegal in the LB of Islington. Anyway, who polices the policemen? How come they employ dumb people who do not realise what they are themselves doing?
  3. Who's 'we'? I personally will be glad to get stuff from the USA (better quality than the crap readily available at the moment) without paying the extra tax.
  4. Hi there. Sorry to hear this. What time did it happen?
  5. Sunday evenings will be bad because every teenager in the country will be using the internet to do their homework!

Hating the tories etc is a deep-seated hang up of the labour party supporter who thinks that they are inhumane if they do not love everyone....this is a remnant of their teenage years when it is expected that you will espouse socialist views but it is because they have no idea of the logistics that accompany a free-for-all, usually at someone else's expense. It can be likened to having a party when your parents are away.... Either that or they are so well off (examples include celebs and the like) that tax increases, price increases, heaving public transport and creaking NHS facilities etc do not affect them...
  7. The group is borne of self-interest- see the map http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/06/24/revealed-the-most-eurosceptic-and-europhilic-areas-in-the-uk/

  9. I just found this out... The Race Relations Act came into being in the UK in 1965 (way before the European court) The equivalent act banning discrimination on sexual grounds or marital status came into being in 1975 ....so women could be discriminated against for a full 10 years after racial discrimination was outlawed- craziness
  10. Court lane, Eynella Road- those properties have massive gardens- why don't people get a rooted tree and use it every year instead of encouraging the planting of monocultures ? The council does give guidelines on disposing of garden waste e.g branches no thicker than 4" and cut up like you would pruning and tree lopping or wtte https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blogs/woodland-trust/2016/12/green-christmas-tree/
  11. I cut the top off plastic bottle and shove it inside with other bottles. Our household is 4 people and we fill the blue bin every 2 weeks.
  12. If people have sash windows they need a lock on them. I don't know about anyone else but in order to be covered by the insurance there was a specific list of locks and it included sash window locks with a BS kite mark

If you go to A and E they give you free pills (they gave me free Ibuprofen for a knee injury once) If you go to the GP or the pharmacy (who WILL sell you something regardless- I tested them out once) it costs you money. Also if you are not entitled the GP won't see you but the A and E will treat you....

  15. I have seen PO counters in WHSmith outside of London. Given the enormous cost of maintaining premises in London this would seem to be the way to go. EBay for example now offer a Collect at Argos facility, and for medium parcels and above the other couriers are much cheaper than the PO. No Government has done anything to protect the basic infrastructure of London and now we are reaping the whirlwind
  16. I saw a visi-vested delivery man lob a brown cardboard (looked like Amazon) box over a double back gate in Crystal Palace Road a few doors along from the yellow shop. Soon afterwards it started raining.....
  17. ooohhh http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/infectious-parasitic/c_ct_toxoplasmosis http://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-true-that-pregnant-women-should-avoid-cats_10310189.bc http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2025687/Warder-killed-inhaling-fumes-droppings-prisoners-pet-pigeons.html
  18. TheCat must be very young to not realise how selfish and and inconsiderate some dog owners, and most cat owners are. To wilfully own a pet that devastates wildlife on a grand scale and wrecks other peoples' enjoyment of their own garden is the height of laziness and inconsideration- I personally don't know how they sleep at night while Tiddles is out on the prowl.....
  19. it doesn't matter what the thread is- you remoaners have to turn it around to the brexit vote.....what you need to remember, and every now and then a church man or someone else with their finger on the pulse of the dispossessed and poor of the UK, is that it is the poor and poorly educated (thanks to destruction of the life-line of the poor- the grammar schools- destroyed by an evil public school Labour asshole who did it purely to keep the poor on their place and thereby make him feel better about himself.....)who suffer most when there is uncontrolled immigration....
  20. Just more neglect of front line services as the council tax payer is being inconvenienced by deliberate political actions ultimately designed for the denigration of central government. I dread to think what's going on in local authority controlled schools....
  21. No surprise really http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38498839
  22. Report the harassment straight away- if you had not replaced the fence and one of them had got injured- what then? They are obviously stupid and the more you apologise (for nothing it seems) they will take advantage....
