  1. Is green dale fields gated / fenced off ? If so may try taking the hound for a sprint around it.
  2. "Is that definitely for real true? I learnt that from one karate instructor, but others have always said to aim more for the centre of the face, which seems more likely to break a nose and make someone more angry than make them stop. So I've often wondered why we weren't taught to aim for the jaw if it's more likely to be a knockout punch. If it is a knockout, though, I'd be scared of really causing serious injury or worse if when they fall. Which is why fighting should always be an absolute last resort, of course, it's not as predictable or controllable irl as martial arts training can sometimes make out. " Katanita - I was just joshing because LD came over as a fan of quick KO's. But the jaw blow does usually slow-down the action, problem is it's a very small fast moving target which may be difficult to hit (and waste time trying) cleanly. I studied GoJu Ryu for years in what was considered a 'dirty' club and during Kumite there were always injuries, no mats to practice on and even if you learnt zero technique you did learn how to take a beating, which is actually useful because most of us don't fight regularly and it's a real shocker getting whacked, for anybody, including those who've trained to hit but never been hit themselves. Our Sensei emphasised fighting as a last resort, but horrible techniques if you're forced to. Problem with aiming to just cause pain or damage is that although it usually puts most opponents off fighting, there are some nutters (or extremely hard people) that will just grin / continue coming until they're physically disabled to the point they cannot continue. I think you have to be a bit of an ace to pick and choose techniques to delay / injure (but not damage) / destroy an opponent at will depending on the situation, because it all happens so quick when it kicks off - so avoidance is best approach, followed by showstoppers if you're forced to fight, either to buy yourself time to get away / get help or to shut them down. You risk your health trying to use 'reasonable force' on someone who's intent on hurting you !
  3. Well if speed to make someone unconscious is your thing it might be worth focusing on strikes to the jaw because that's instantaneous...
  4. The intensity of exercise from groundwork is probably not obvious, great for core strength and stamina. Some of those top jujitsu guys are like magicians when they get someone down to the ground, the way they tie you up and exploit the mechanics of the human physiology. The extended pain when subjected to a hold or fold is somehow more humbling than a quick strike like a punch or kick and the potential damage possible can be very long lasting. Mr Lager Lout's in serious trouble if he picks on one of these guys !
  5. If it's not sorted I can switch off tomoro I have a stopcock key.
  6. Looks like a fire hydrant cover to me, probably doesn't feed the property. Isn't there another, smaller (about the size of your hand) iron cover on pavement edge of property ? Same may be visible outside each distinct property nearby.
  7. Is there a water stopcock cover on pavement if do I can switch off. Crime to waste water.
  8. Is it under the ground ie. a service pipe or is it plumbing above ground that's damaged / leaking ?
  9. "And you obviously know best KK, being such an animal lover yourself." I don't proclaim to be above / below anyone in regards to animal 'loving' or anything else. I just commented on your holier-than-thou tone which came across as an unfair put-down of others.
  10. Oh I see so if you genuinely care about something you automatically know all the facts, otherwise you can't possibly 'genuinely care'. Wow sounds like a caste system within animal rights !
  11. Star Wars
  12. You're right Jah it's all cockshite anyway ! Got us out of the pub for 5 mins tho.
  13. I regularly do 'bombs' in the deep-end, just as the lane-swimmers approach. Such fun. That's 'bombs' as in jumping-in whilst scrunched-up in a ball, rather than laying a 'floater'.
  14. OK finished - pics here. Got side-tracked with other jobs I had to do under floor moving the heating, rewiring and fitting new gas feed.
  15. Shame. It's a great song and Harris does it well.
  16. Good fun driving through the flood around 6.30 this morning.
  17. Why don't you ask them there, in the pool, that way you'll surely have more chance of getting the message to the relevant people ? Or raise it with the lifeguards there and then, I always find them quite helpful.
  18. What's even worse is that loads of kids got massacred.
  19. damn !! someone's stole my identity.
  20. Some people are really stupid they believe killing loads of kids in a school proves some kind of point and furthers their aims in the name of XXXX of YYYYY, when really all they're doing is just killing loads of kids.
  21. I found yesterday I could not post specifically from work (Though I could from my mobile). Could that be why ?
  22. Khan's beaten Alexander and Malivnaggi. So has Shawn Porter. It's gonna be solely down to money so even if Khan was the best opponent available (I don't think so) it doesn't mean he'll be next to fight the man. I see hm pissing away up to a year waiting for his 'big' fight. He could make equivalent money fighting Brook (Hearn has already said ?4m at Wembley and has provisionally booked a date in late spring next year). It'll be a shame, love or hate Khan, if he wastes what will be a huge part of his remaining career avoiding decent match-ups in the hope of a single contest. If he keeps doing what he did on Saturday he won't need to beg and the fans will cry out for it, for me he's hugely disadvantaging himself by mentioning Floyd like his name is a feckin consonant.

    SPOTY 2014

I was just thinking about Carl Froch the boxer, he was a candidate for the award but hasn't got a particularly effervescent 'personality'. No reason why he should have though, he punches people's faces in for a living - I just think the award is mistitled, better would be 'sportsperson of the year' or something like that which implies it's down to your achievements as opposed to your ability to captivate an audience with your witicisms, at your leisure.
