Often it's where the water collects at bottom of window frame and soaks through joints where the upright sides meet the sill. Can also be coming under sill with help of wind if not properly sealed. Is the windows' paintwork in good condition ?

Could also have been a dog, or the cat having been caught on a fence/wire. My dog recently had a tear in the armpit area too, a patch of skin torn-off around the size of a penny. I'm not sure it was a fox though, given they're 1/4 his size. So I figure he's got snagged in the bushes, or possibly on a nail in a post/fence.

In any shop, market stall or bar I always tell the assistant what note I'm giving them. It helps avoid honest mistakes on their part and ensures I'm damn straight in my mind about how much money I just put out of my control and into somebody else's hands. For me, it's the only way to avoid the above. I've worked on stalls, bars and in shops and it's actually quite easy to not pay attention to what note you're taking, if it was on a cheque or electronic transfer there'd be no issue because there's a record of the amount - so I just create that record by saying it in front then giving them the note.

I struggle with the proposition that by letting-off fireworks in a garden one is automatically mindless. I sympathise with the frustration with fireworks 'out of hours', but one doesn't translate exactly into the other, sorry.

If he was 'old' in the sense of unable to defend himself, weak, unfit, history of being hit a lot, slow, unskilled and from a lower-tier level I'd certainly want him to retire, for his own good. But he's none of the above. Whatever he decides I wish him the best. I think he'd beat Stevenson, so there's a belt right there - trouble is he'd need to face Kovalev again to unify !!

I agree it's a timely point to retire, but it wouldn't be like he's not still elite.

If the coat would still have value, maybe keep an eye on gumtree, the EDF and Ebay for local-ish sellers ?
