  1. Virgin do weekends, they sorted me out 3 weeks ago on a Sat PM 12-14.
  2. just take him to dluwich baths, check their timetable.
  3. Conways paving our streets with fake pavements is a perpetual fraud that seems to run and run, with no accountability.
  4. Utterly pointless parking proposal, not sure who / what it is intended to serve or benefit. Is it intended to give everyone a fair crack at having time (parking) in the park ? Is it intended to create a situation where people can be 'at fault' (by breaching the 4 hour limit) and therefore money can be extracted from them ? A curfew on time that can be spent there (if you park there) is bizarre. The surrounding streets are best bet and will be the natural plan B for those that drive and don't want to be constrained in how long their day at the park lasts.
  5. stecoward101 - I'd really be careful before making assumptions on rates, it's sooo easy to stretch yourself at today's rates and lose your house 2 years later. If you're stretching yourself now, and not prepated to rent a room or two out or work evenings/weekends or sell your stuff regularly, you're asking for it.
  6. Any cafe in ED that is not pants will be heaving on a Saturday, surely that's their biggest day ?
  7. good tip - cheers, caught the last 30 mins. Other Stuff. One of the most impressive attempts to win a world title in the least no. of fights is Vasly Lomanchenko. He won his first pro fight last Saturday against a tough seasoned pro (25-3, 15 KO?s), who's no mug. His second fight, in January, will be for a World title. From memory he's Featherweight. He was an outstanding pro, something like 396-1. Two Olympic golds. Two World golds. Unheralded record. If he wins in Jan, I expect it'll be a record. Beibut Shumenov (LHW) did it in like 9 or 10 fights. This guy is surely one to watch on 2014. Him and Rigondeaux (the outstanding Cuban ex-amateur) would be something.
  8. afish: "call them on it loudly" sounds like chastisement to me, either way the guy obviously made a mistake - this does happen in real life. It's just the way it is - passengers aren't intentionally trying to take a seat that another passenger has tried to give-up to a pregnant person. bonfire: fair enough, but one bad experience that someone told you about or you saw doesn't necessarily (especially i this kind of example) happen generally. You don't have to be overly faithful in the human condition to realise that. To put it more mildly, there's been a lot of complaining, all of which in 99% of cases can be resolved by politely asking for a seat. I understand there's sometimes fear of asking but with not everyone on the train being aware, unfortunately that's the way it is. Not ideal.
  9. Also surely there's a % who just take because it's free ? Rather than 'need' it. Therefore taking a resource intended for others. It's based on trust, right ? Nothing would surprise me in a country with such a benefits rip-off culture.
  10. When I broke my back a few years ago and could walk properly again, if i was in pain too much on a train (often due to it jerking about) I'd ask for a seat on a train, it's no big deal. I may have got a tut now and then but who cares I ain't trying to form a relationship, I just want the dang seat.
  11. "Make sure the badge on your bump is at the eye level of a sitting down commuter. Make sure it's well into their field of vision. And if, as happened when I stood up a few weeks ago, someone other than you sits down - in this case a bloke - call them on it loudly." - This is so childish, this attitude of bollocking people for just being on the train and not being bent on looking out for your needs. This sense of entitlement, however reasonable (in the pecking-order of who deserves a seat) the cause may seem, can't extend to "I'm pregnant so everyone should know that, purely by osmosis, and I shouldn't have to stoop so low as to let people know I need seat". "It's fine in theory to say that I/we need to make it clear that we need a seat, but personally I've been wary of this since a friend, nearing the end of her pregnancy and feeling faint, asked for a seat and received the response 'It's not my f*&?ing problem that you're pregnant'." - What's the point of mentioning this - is it really proof that ALL people are pregnant woman haters ? Nope. I can get on a train with you every morning until Xmas and bet my house you won't get that response to politely broadcasting you want a seat because you need it. If that's your sole reason for not asking then you're setting yourself up for standing all day long. You can't reasonable expect people to have only you on their mind - this attitude really stinks. Being pregnant isn't actually an entitlement to be the queen of the carriage, it's a condition where you have extra needs - which you need to advise some people of, that's it. Given the attitude I think you need a cab.
  12. Most commuters are obviously locked into their own zone and not bent on checking who's pregnant and who's not, so you're going to have to do the best you can to make that as clear as possible - if the passengers don't know, they don't have a chance to help you. Being pushed around isn't great at best of time but if that happens you're going to have to let them know to try and avoid it continuing on that journey - and yes you'l have to do same next day ad infinitum. I've never seen an instance where a pregnant woman asked across a carriage if someone could spare a seat and i didn't see at least 3 or 4 offer / get-up immediately. If the trains were less crowded it would be easier to see if a particular person is I find trains to City (say, Thameslink) from DH are a little less full at the rear, same with Victoria trains - inmy experience.
  13. I saw that place on Whateley a couple of weeks ago - surely it's just adventurously-priced in the hope of a high offer ? There's better deals, even in ED. ETA: And it's facing the old ED police station, which means a year and more of a building site coming once the developers move in, then being overlooked by a block of flats with constant comings/goings to the flats' car park (if they bother to build one). Nice.
  14. stock tips - do your research. I didn't and lost 3x fortunes. don't gamble what you can't afford to lose.
  15. well I'm not an expert but common sense surely says we can't have rates so low for ever, they've not in my experience been so low before - when I bouyght it was 15.4%. Imagine that now. Imagine 10%. Image 5% even. do your calcs. Over time rates ain't going down, they're can ONLY GO up. Even when the rates are rock bottom the banks add 2-3% so they can make from lending to you. When rate go to 5%, you think they won't stil add 2-3% for themselves ? There'll be a lot of broken-hearted people who are stretching themselves now and have no chance in a couple of years, lambs to the slaughter. That's why I think it's disingenuous of Govt to help people purchase now, it's easy now (interest rate rise), bet they won't help those people when their mortgage bill triples.
  16. interest rates are low. when rates rise in 18 months or so people will be able to borrow less and those with big mortgages will be crucified. that should settle the increase in prices for a while, we may even see a drop - else people may not be able to buy. IMO Hindmans - jeez that's expensive for the ghetto side of ED.
  17. Couldn't this be a case of someone trimming your bush back because its grown outside your property ? Perhaps it was taking-up ? You say public place - was it growing over a pavement ? If so, maybe just make sure your garden's growth stays within your property ?
  18. Rents in London are ridiculous - it's not an SE22 thing.
  19. sounds like we need some neighbourhood-watch type action round these here parts.
  20. sillywoman - I hear ya, but if you're set on getting the best, it's unfortunately not always available in your 'hood. If you're a woman, might as well be taught by a woman who's trained (and highest in her field) for 35yrs. GoJu is a hard/soft style, some of what ED-NAGAIUTB refers to, but also some solid moves too.
  21. There was a guy with hood up on Crystal Palace Rd at 8.20pm, 50yds north of actress, making out he was on the phone (it shed no light so I guessed there was no call actually on). As I passed in car he did immediate 180 turn so I could not see his face, I went round block and came back from other direction, just as I passed - exactly same again, immediate 180 turn. I stopped so I was looking straight across road at him, he turned towards houses on his side and stood still with back to me. I had to move on as 2 cars behind. Then he walked-on in opposite direction to me. I'm probably noticing this more than usual due to recent postings
  22. I was in a Wiltshire village recently at a lovely cottage in the middle of the old area, on Sunday morning the 14th century nearby church had an extended peal of bells. My friend thought it outrageous that church bells are allowed "in this day and age" - no pleasing some people !!!
  23. Linda Marchant - at Tooting. If a young lady is serious about defending herself.
  24. Close. Barring the colour scheme and registration plate it's identical.
