I am doing this this weekend. Glyphosphate I presume comes in many brands ?

Salad. Works every time.

James just read the thread above - generally the term is understood (and enacted) in different ways by different people. Regardless of whether you think you've grasped it. No-one said it's complicated. It's just not as definitive as you'd like to believe.

This is an area I was going to touch on earlier in the thread, the spectrum of versions of vegetarianism means there is not one way to cater for all. It's a bit like making provision for 'religious people'. Sounds great in theory, but loads of stumbling blocks in practice.
-
GEEK - it may just be some kind of ground covering / climbing weed. If you tug on it, are it's roots forming an incoherent web a few inches underground ? If so possibly bindweed. Another bindweed indicator is when you try to pull the stalks out of the ground, this 'sleeve' pulls off but the core is left above ground, so you have to dig it out.

numbers - yes of course, Bihar, it's worse in that respect than the other two states I mentioned !

I never did get the obsession of many veggies of eating non-meat food thats manufactured to look like / have the texture of meat, especially as in the UK one of the main reasons for being vegetarian is the welfare of animals / repugnance of eating dead flesh. I also never got the comparison made between a Sunday roast and whatever a vegetarian is going to eat. They're different approaches to food consumption, so why are they ever going to be similar ? That's an unreasonable expectation or desire. UK mainstream food culture just isn't set-up yet to carer properly for vegetarians, it'll probably take decades to be anywhere near equal to non-veg provision, if ever.

Are hedges immune ? I have some knotweed in my hedge !

I've got this weird ingrowing hair on my shoulder, I pull it out every year or so, along with loads of thick pus, I do all this one-handed. But a few months later BaDaa! it's there again. It's completely under the skin, no lump or clues, just a little 1mm thick bristle which is the worn end of the hair, sticking out. Would your company consider a medically-focussed special on that ? It's definitely more interesting than people who are challenged with weight loss, to me anyway.

I think that with a fairly small high street East Dulwich is doing well to have 2x dedicated 'vegetarian' restaurants within a short walk of one another. However, the points made by posters above are reasonable, you can ask for dishes to be tweaked (if ANY restaurant considers you a nuisance for requesting a change to a dish, that's their problem, not yours).

Burbage - They are there, bottom shelf I think. They're round biscuits. I buy them regularly myself, only reason I go there (apart from cheap cat litter). Compliments on your taste. And your capacity for verbosity.

No I think I'm spot-on. I see your point though. The sensationalisation of 'embarrassing bodies' et al, is sad. For those with wieght challenges, for thos ein th eindustry manufacturing these programmes, for those that watch the programmes.

penguin - I shoudl have clarified, I was responding to OP's post which was comparing UK to India, which isn't a reasonable comparison IMO. However, some buddhists eat meat, as do some Hindus, so I was not getting into the religion-based drivers, because there are always exceptions !

Freak show.

Foxy: Polio. Common in many places. Diphtheria. Ditto. The Workhouse. Bangladesh, China, Public Hanging. Iran. Village Stocks. These are just plain lightweight compared to waterboarding and electrocution, so redundant ! Ducking Stools. Ditto Witch Burning. Still prevalent in Orissa and West Bengal.

I think it depends how strict the vegetarians are, 'vegetarian' food prepared in a meat kitchen, does seem to qualify though to most UK vegeterians. OP - It's not reasonable to compare to India as having it 'sorted' though, because in the UK most restaurants won't want to go to the extremes which India does. 'Vegetarian' there means something different than your usual non meat-eater in the UK. Indians segregate not just the menu, but the entire building the restaurant is in, especially in the provinces. There is a sign above each half of the restaurant - 'NV' (non-veg) for meat eaters, who are the minority. They have a wall through the entire building, so seperate eating area, separate kitchens and often even separate V/NV loos. Veggies in India are strict to the point of EXPECTING this physical separation, to avoid cross-'contamination'. For them it's more than just sticking a few vegetable dishes on the menu, it's more a case of the vegetarians being aware that there's meat-eaters around and not wanting their purity compromised. ETA: While the thread title is Vegetarians, the thrust appears to be about vegetable dish avaiability on a meat restaurants' menus.

Gingerbeer - is that with loads of downloads / heavy use ? I just browse and sometimes download the odd album - 10G sounds HEAVY !! Woman - yeah I thought about that, I used to have the guy next door's password (from when my WiFi was busted a while) but he's moved-out and I don't feel I have rapport yet with new folks. I could ask, but I'd feel a little 'dependent' on them. Good suggie tho, thanks. Any additional advice / comments welcome. -
Thinking of cutting costs. Currently with Virgin so I get some sports channels by subscription, but the landline is never used and cos it ain't BT you can't benefit from 0800 nos anyway. So thinking of canning the Virgin service, subscription channels, losing landline altogether (rely on mobile) and getting a dongle for internet. Anyone done this / got suggestions ? Do dongles work OK ? Would rather just pay for the traffic as I use, if it's cheap enough.

If the weigh-in was on fight-night, just before they get in the ring, then I'd agree. Let's see ho wthey compare, size-wise, against each other on the night. There may even be a record kept of their weights on the night.
-
I think 2lbs for your higher weight (LMW+) boxers is no big deal, BUT only when they are fighting at their appropriate weight. Canelo purposefully boils down to the very low LMW, when he could stop at MW. If Canelo fights at 172lbs when in a LMW bout, that means he's walking around at 180ish IF he doesn't eat crap food and still trains a bit. To trim down to 154lb is a huge task for that weight (and may be part of reason he already has stamina issues). For Canelo specifically, that extra 2lbs is a factor. Also, if it wasn't, Mayweather wouldn't have asked for it. I'd be interested to see what the over-weight penalties are, per lb. in the fight contract. Regarding credibility, I prefer fights to be for belts etc. But Mayweather beating Canelo at 152 is in my view a calculated move to negate some of the advantage that Canelo brings into the ring. Given the size difference between the guys, I don't begrudge Mayweather the 2lbs - he's been slated already for months for not fighting Canelo, but no-one slates Canelo for not fighting Ward.

DC - Yes, it was a good win. Matthyse wants Danny Garcia next (also beat Khan, but more convincingly by KO, with his trademark left-hook). Matthyse has good power in both hands, which he demonstrated a few weeks ago on Steve Dallas. Danny was ringside for the Peterson v Matthyse contest, he looked very worried when called out by Lucas Matthyse !! After the fight Khan had the audacity so say he has the skills to beat Matthyse, would stop him, wouldn't go the distance, he sees flaws in Mattyhse, etc. etc. ad nauseum. He's a hard hitter, but when talking P4P hardest hitter you maybe have to also consider Abdusalamov (HW), Golovkin (MW), Adonis Stevenson (SMW) and of course (though I dislike him) Wilder (28-0, 28 KOs). For me it's Golovkin, but I hear you on Mattyhse (who will call-out mayweather soon). ETA: Yes Mattyhse was dealt badly in his 2x losses. All the more reason for him to take the decision out of the judges' hands !!
