  1. I saw all the acts luckily, the guy Stuart Forrester was good. I thought it was cool to see kids there dancing about and digging the afternoon with their folks. It's a community festival FFS.
  2. Do check it on YT, it's scarey / bewildering how outclassed Burns was Rds1-7 !
  3. Cool - I didn't nick it from there tho !
  4. Ricky Burns had a rude awakening last night in defending his WBO lightweight strap against Jose Gonzalez from Puerto Rico. Facts: * Gonzalez took Burns to school, his boxing completely outclassed Burns. * Gonzalez hurt Burns a few times. * Gonzalez could not get Burns out of there though. * In trying to KO Burns, Gonzalez weakened and his legs tired. * Gonzalez became less aggressive after R7, punched less, less movement. * In Rds 8 and 9, Burns struggled to catch Gonz but was having increasing success which seemed to dismay Gonz. * Burns showed zero signs of backing down, even when hurt, then he started to catch Gonzalez with head shots. * Suddenly at start of Round 10 Gonzalez did not want to fight, he said his 'wrist was broke'. Wrist or no, Gonz?s legs were gone, he could not run and did not want to attack. His arm shots could not keep Ricky off. With all Gonz?s power and success early on he could not defeat Burns. Even though he has a great choice of shots in BOTH hands he chose not to box to the end of the contest. With one OR two good hands remaining he could no longer compete as strongly as the first 7 rounds any more. His legs could not support his desire to win, even if he had that desire. Ricky will hopefully be objective and realised he was exposed in some respects (pure boxing ability) and has work to do. The good news is that Vasquez and Broner probably don't punch as hard as Gonzalez so they must be wondering how they'd defeat Burns if he just laughed-off Gonzalez's biggest onslaughts.
  5. OK - so the original bizarre point "Cars should not have the priority on Roads in populated areas" is now being diluted to footbal matches and firework displays. ie. busy events. That's reasonable enough. But to suggest all populated areas is plain silly and naive, without an alternative for the transportation routes that will be compromised.
  6. So what do we use the pavements for in that (bizarre) example ?! Community vegetable plots ? They're call 'roads' because they're transportation routes, it's a well-established thing - you know, Romans and stuff.
  7. "Cars should not have the priority on Roads in populated areas" ?? So it should be like some kind of shopping precinct, where pedestrians control the roads ? So where do the buses go and how does London work in those circumstances ?!
  8. Jeremy: "Sue, there are weedkillers you can get now which will kill knotweed, but it will take 2-3 years to get rid of the stuff..." Have you got any product names you could share pls.
  9. Cyclic activity ?
  10. Hate to be cynical, but a lawyer being positive just means you're about to spend some money on a lawyer because he says there may be a (strong) case. I hope you do have a strong/succesful case.
  11. From an emotional perspective it's a shame, a la Bruno. From a cold boxing perspective, about time. Martin Murray did a good job in Argentina on Martinez. I saw it as a win for Murray, maybe a draw, just possibly Martinez by 1 round. The judges though, giving it to Martinex with 3 rounds clear, was outrageous. Either Martinez didn't train/prepare, or he had injuries going into the fight, OR Murray was the first to demonstrate Martinez is going old.
  12. Given his past I wager he'll 'comeback' though.
  13. Hold on, the hair shops are there for a reason, because there's been continued demand over many years. What's the rationale for wanting some of those shops to pack-up ? Because some white folk dissaprove of them. Behave.
  14. Love the London water, tastes fine. I plumbed my entire cold water supply from the mains, no water tank, so every tap can be drunk from, even hot ! I'm buggered if the water supply is cut-off during works tho.
  15. Yes it seems an extremely frustrating situation and I do sympathise. Never say never, perhaps you can research test cases in NZ ?? If you can evidence that there was an appt scheduled specifically to change the will there could be a conclusion (reinforced by the text you mentioned, plus any other records of similar communications) that amendments were imminent to reflect his updated requirements.
  16. Unfortunately the will is there for a reason, to explain how the assets are to be divvied-up. The whole point of it is to avoid disputes / battles after the fact and to ensure the deceased's wishes regarding dispersal are honoured.
  17. Jeremy - Can't say I had an expectation as such, but Audley's weak performance twinned with weak justification and making-out he wanted to continue, were a joke. I've definitely been one of those boxing fans that always hoped he'd somehow find his form on the night and perform according to his skill level. Naive I know.
  18. Khan was very lucky this evening. Against someone his own weight he'd very likely have been KO'd. Lets hope Virgil Hunter can pass some more of his genius onto Khan, he'll need it against Garcia, Peterson and the other LWWs at World level.
  19. Jeremy: "I think it was too much too soon for Scott Harrison, after all he's been through. Still, damn good effort all things considered. I've always liked him as a boxer, even though he obviously has serious issues outside of the ring. Is this the end of the road for his career?" Having seen how sharp Liam Walsh was against Harrison, I don't think Harrison will ever be good enough to win a rematch. I agree though that Harrison should have built-up his level of opposition gradually. Harrison can't really reach domestic honours with guys like Liam and Ricky Burns bossing the weight. Based on Liam's performance, I'd fancy him against Kevin Mitchell and say he's a good chance against Burns. Burns / Walsh was a made fight previously but Walsh's car crash prevented it. I bet Audley within 6 weeks is talking about last chance / redemption etc. His excuses when interviewed after tonight's KO were embarrassing. He said he went down on a knee to regain his senses but Wilder kept hitting him ! When you take a knee you don't ignore the other boxer - precisely so you can protect yourself from continued attack. Audley froze again and the unfortunate thing for him is be cannot objectively look at his own performances and draw the obvious (and increasingly necessary) conclusions. As for Wilder, what about those crazy swinging looping roundhouse punches ?!?! He almost knocked himself off balance ! He's so open when he throws like that he's asking for a counter or body punch, presumably he's so used to bossing his opponents that he doesn't think he needs to worry about defending himself when he goes head-hunting.
  20. Audley = JOKE
  21. I'd love to see him waste Wilder in like 2 rounds..
  22. Did anyone see Tyson Fury lean, hold, butt and elbow his way to a victory last weekend ? oh yeah there wa sthe knockout punch too, but man was he dirty dirty in that contest. He was 44lbs heavier than opponent Steve Cunningham and used his body weight to stress Cunningham's legs whenever he could. Nevertheless Fury was dropped in the 2nd, before squashing Cunningham against the ropes, holding Cunningham's head in position with his left elbow, then KO'ing the poor opponent with his right. Shameful. Tyson's size and size only are his USP, not his boxing skills. Cleverly also won against solid but limited (and smaller) opposition. Scott Harrison lost on points, but against a very talented Liam Walsh (was scheduled to fight Ricky Burns last year). This weekend it's Audley versus Wilder, Martin Murray versus Sergio Martinez (Middleweight), Khan(t) versus Diaz the soft puncher. I think we'll get one British win, just can't decide who.
  23. "...do you think there are of one of the many Indian buffet restaurants letting someone 'borrow' the restaurant for a while and turn it into somewhere people reaaaaally want to eat!? " I'd guess unlikely on LL. They'd surely fear your losing them any reputation they may have. You can't just take over their location, laying all the / risk and consequences on them. Who'll pay the ?1000's in rent per month while chef friend experiments with the locals ?
  24. ..or, ?25,000,000 - ?400,000,000 if Louisa quotes the price.
