  1. Football match ? You think babies that are too young too eat proper food get taken by their Mothers to football matches, really ?! You forgot skydiving and snorkelling, the Mother may not choose to feed their child whilst doing those, too. Strong argument, UncleBen. It's absurd to suggest that breast-feeding in public is done (even occasionally) to shock others. What's shocking about it ?! Again, your sexual hang-ups shining through UncleBen ? What exactly is shocking about breast-feeding ? Do say, please. You've called it as shocking so HOW ?? You don't even see the breast, it's usually covered with a cloth, there's not much noise, it doesn't smell, there's no blood, no one dies.
  2. Maxxi - not delusional at all. If you pay attention to all I've written on this thread you'll see the final point I made about moral was wholly inconsistent with my previous posts, this is because I was being tongue-in-cheek. Probably my fault for not qualifying the comment with "Note: Humour In Last Sentence". DJKQ - I did try PM you this in response to your question on it last night but your inbox was full !
  3. Actually I can align to Louisa's angle to a small extent, not even 10 years ago I was at the end of my tether over smoking in public places - I'd be having a meal and a couple on the next table would light-up, ruining the evening out, for me and partner. I felt extremely hard done by, not being able to eat a basic meal without choking on the arsenic/lead/ammonia combo. Every pub, club, gig. It seemed obvious to me that this smoke was shit (and so did the science). But not only that, the clever bastards who could mix a couple of hundred chemicals to the ever-decreasing proportion of tobacco to reduce burn rate and protect the bronchial tract from the damage that inhaling smoke should do, could not even make it smell half-decent. Always stank like shit. I felt like the only sane person, constantly bothered by the stench. Then I lucked-out and the Govt decided those kinds of places had to be non-smoking zones. I still after several years cannot believe that it actually happened. The moral is don't give up, always maintain hope, you know what's best, hopefully one day the rest of society will one day catch-up with you.
  4. Louisa, the majority of people don't have extreme nut allergy, adverse reactions to Max Factor mascara type 297Q-HL101 or suffer epileptic fits at the slightest smell of a soya milk latte, which is why these items are allowed on a bus. You seem to be trying to turn the public arena into a minorities-led care home.
  5. Which buse(s) ? Is it only girls getting groped ?
  6. People get groped on buses - seriously ? And why are the gropers' hands always grubby ?!
  7. ....and don't forget that you can't 'catch' anything by watching people fornicating on public transport either, though that does sort of support Louisa's argument that they're virtually the same.
  8. Babies don't sit up and eat 3x square meals a day like their parents. They tend to feed frequently and sometimes a little at a time. Just because you associate breasts with your sexual beliefs, no need to lay that on mums feeding babies - it's separate, so get over it. Whatever could be wrong with a Mum breast feeding a child ? Just cos the breasts aren't out for your benefit, it's suddenly not on. Hypocritical or what !
  9. Surely the time to feed an infant that's breast-fed is when he/she wants the feed ? WTF has it got to do with anyone else ?! You seriously think the child should have to wait (possibly an hour or more) because you've a hang-up over a child being fed of the boob. It's not women's rights, it's the CHILDs right.
  10. Lady D are you suggesting Louisa is frigid ?!
  11. Sorry Louisa, what are minor irritations to most other train travellers seem to be serious banes in your life, to the point of over-obsession. This is not a put-down. It's just people. They can appear selfish and self-absorbed on a train. But fines / punishment ?? It may be a personal utopian fantasy for a few minutes after seeing something/one that p1sses you off, but no more than that ! The solution is in the provinces I'm afraid, where, overall, manners and personal habit in public is more thoughtful and more likely to meet your needs.
  12. Does sound a real shame to throw them, I'd certainly be interested in an attractive poster from that era. ETA: sorry just saw the bit about already tried eBay.
  13. Application of make-up on a train = slip into immorality ? Now I've heard it all !! That comment just HAS to be a wind-up.
  14. MrsR you are my hero ! I just read the O2 website and saw the weird rule of taking off our water bottle tops 'for our own safety'. Good thinking.
  15. Ha !! I ain't leaving early but I DO need water without paying stupid money for it, if I'm allowed to bring food in then yes I'll pack a snack. After all, 5 hrs in the mosh does work up a hunger ;) I appreciate those of you on amphetamines don't require food..
  16. If you think it's gross then you must think make up in general is gross. People are in a rush, you don't have to look. I think anything you can do 'on the go' is reasonable, except stopping for a dump. As long as you don't impact others negatively. I get 'looks' on the occasion I leave the house still brushing my teeth, esp when I spit mouthful into a drain on the street, but sometimes just have to innit.
  17. Thanks for all info - appreciated, good to see diff approaches. Off subject, but can you take water (re-filled water bottles) / sandwiches in ?
  18. Thanks. Anyone know the deal with driving ?
  19. Weekend show there soon and fancy driving but what's the deal getting out afterwards, is it 2 hrs queuing etc. ? Tips appreciated. Kk
  20. No, it's Gone With The Wind. Or Roots. Or Dallas.
  21. 1. Gennady Golovkin is fighting Nobuhiro Ishida in Monte Carlo this Saturday, you'll probably be able to watch it free on p2p4u.net (good free streaming of sports) then on youtube from Sunday. He's got HEAVY hands. However, Ishida KO'd James Kirkland in R1 a couple of years ago, so he's no dud. GG is a feared middleweight, no other world champ at that weight wants to face him, which shows how pathetic the multi-belt situation with the numerous governing bodies is. 2. Audley Harrison is lined-up for Deontay Wilder on the Amir Khan undercard in Sheffield next month. DW is 27-0 (with 27 KOs !). DW is I think limited in style but was an Olympic medallist I believe (bronze). The USA think DW's the next big thing. But so was Seth Mitchell until a couple of months ago when Jonathan Banks did a KO Rd2 on him. I predict Harrison gets splatted in RD1-2. Harrison can beat DW easy, but because he freezes when the bombs come, he surely has no chance. If the best Audley turns-up, this is a walk in the park for him. 3. Haye finally lining up some fights for summer / autumn because he's finally realised you hav to EARN your shot, not just blag on telly to get it.
  22. get internet radio and you can check out the USA stations (or anywhere else in world). sorted. there's an app for iphone which does that for you too.
  23. I've a tool she can use.
  24. It's near Peckham where you can get decent ingredients / veg for cooking foreign food, without costing the Earth.
