You could Get rid of it snd say you lost it. Get rid of it and say you we're 'burgled'. Get rid of it then before end of tenancy replace it with a sofa 2nd hand from EDF of equal quality (you'll likely be able to get better quality) quite cheaply. You can say something like a friend weed on it - something which writes-off the landlord wanting to keep it but shows you've resolved/improved his sofa situation.

I think someone a year or two ago posted a photo from a roof / high window down that way which showed the route behind some terraces of the (ex) river.

Comediens we loath and love, starting with Ricky Gervais
KidKruger replied to malumbu's topic in The Lounge
I saw the Rick Gervais programme about an old peoples' home recently for the first time, although I don't find it that 'funny' it IS cringeworthy in a comedic kind of way, it does focus on sentimental aspects and banality of life for workers / staff and relationships between them in that environment and I find that interesting in a fashion (not the fact that it's a retirment home per se, there HAS to be some stting though, right). The observations it makes and the behaviours / awkwardness acted-out were sort of intruiging. -
The money it costs to open / run a small business or cafe these days, your 60p cup of tea and 90p bacon roll will ensure you close in 6 months, maybe longer if you're willing to give up your life savings. There are such a range of cafes available in ED and surrounds that surely everyone has somewhere that suits them. I don't think there any exclusion underway. No-one says the pubs are excluding people with a pint costing ?4+ a throw !! Pubs in Peckham area are full of people who could use one less pint and a loaf more of sourdough (this goes for ED too).

I was in Homerton 3 weeks ago and as I walked on to the main street pavement from Brooksby's Walk, by the church, a bloke walking towards me somehow got my senses buzzing, the way he looked/at me I guess. As he neared me I moved to the side slightly just as he swung at me (missed) and I thought I saw a blade though couldn't be sure. I just carried-on walking so as not to provoke a chase, but ready to scarper. 2 secs later I hear this swish/ripping sound, he's made a metre-long slit in a huge canvas banner hanging on the church railings - it's still there (I go every week). Cheek of it. I'd be up for blade carriers being banged-up straight away, but the prisons just cannot cope so that'll never happen.

"Any stabbing is concerning, one so local is even more of a concern. I hope the police will increase there presence and they reconsider keeping ED Police Station open." Yes but if it's a 1-2-1 ongoing issue between a couple of guys the general public are not so at risk because its targeted/specific, rather than someone roaming around looking for victims.

Some of the Harry and Paul sketches last season were funny (many were not). Parking Patowayo (and his black and white cat...awayo) is obscure to me but funny. -

Most hilarious double act recently surely is Cameron & Osborne. -
Horrible globs of slush falling from the sky. They land on you and melt an ice cold puddle into you. Horrid !

What does Lordship Lane need?
KidKruger replied to whiskeymistery's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Otta I think they do all sorts of repairs. There's also various vintage kit for sale, though I don't know enough to determine if it's good gear or not (I'd assume it is because the guy seesm to know his stuff). No 'extras', for sale down there these days though. -

It's called I think MoJo, they're having a look at my turntable at the weekend, friendly dudes. -
the trite nature of people's phone calls on trains, why does there seem to be proportionality between the volume of the person speaking and the pointless content of their conversation ? The result is you never hear the decent stuff !

Local hooooooligan tearing up the place!
KidKruger replied to thephatmaster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm with you, but previously there was a thread by someone who'd had someone staring into their lounge through the front window, they'd take a photo and there'd been a discussion about whether they should post the picture locally / on EDF to flush-out who it was. Some posters thought that'd be unreasonable in cae the peeper was suffering mental health issues. -
Yeah Loughborough hotel, that bar in the huge room (ballroom ?) was magnificent. It used to get messy in their sometimes, falling down stairs was probably fitting for that venue !

I remember a Mambo club above a huge pub but that was between Brixton and Oval, it was kinda afro-jazz form what I remember.

That's what I mainly do too Worker. This morning I got the 8.19 which is a bit late for me. Having stepped off the train at E&C so people could get off quickly and unhindered, some tool elbowed me on his way out the door - presumably to say I didn't step off quickly enough ? Dunno, but I'll be taking a chainsaw in my bag tomorrow so I can chop his elbows off and stuff them up his nose.

The 'mock' waitrose sounds good, solid product lines and will be fun seeing the dissapointment on propsective customers' faces, however I do feel guilty using my new-found wealth to tease people, I', trying to do something for the community not just the mickey-takers - so I'm afraid this one's in the Maybe pile. Red - yes I think some kind of statement building is in order. Dawsons heights though, are you sure ? i don't have a better suggestion, so you've got the pointy roof and some extra terracing around the base of the (now) tower. Fairly modest though, like 20 floors. It's now called Kruger's Kliff. Mick Mac - we must live different lifestyles, I'm sure I could retire on $10,500,000 (IF I wasn't busy providing support for ED's ideas/projects) !!

It's down to the people and the people only, IMO. If you are trying to get on a busy train you will almost always have to ask people to move down the train. If you're lucky, the person at the front of that line of people acting oblivious to the carnage at the door will move down a bit. But the people in between are not going to ask those in front of them to move up - it's not for their benefit so why would they ask strangers to move along the carriage for someone else. They won?t. So it's down to you, it's your ass, your job, your problem. So you try and do it nicely, ask people to move down. Nothing. Ask again with a double-please. Someone halfway down the half-empty carriage, looks round in a "Oh, what was that ?" kinda way, but never quite makes eye contact with you. Because they don't really care. So you try squeeze on and people get p1ssed-off. You can see space down the carriage. You gotta make a choice. Step off and hope for better luck on the next train when the platform crowd has increased, or try get people to move up so that more of you on the platform can get on and take up the space that's clearly there. What will your boss say about another late arrival, another train excuse. So you squeeze past a couple of people and get dirty looks, tuts, tooth-sucking and perhaps a comment like ?no need to push?. Yes, there fecking well IS the need to push, so do one or move up the carriage next time. Generally if there?s clearly space on the train and the above efforts have failed, I politely say the train won?t move until the door can close and the door cannot close because I am not on the train yet so if folks could all move along a half step we can all be on our way. Massively unpopular, but you either wanna get to work or not.

Otta, think big. I'll just 'unfurbish' the GE back to the CPT, whenever you fancy a pint at CPT !

GigGirl - you can make as many suggestions as you want, I'm rich, there's plenty of time to craft another (less inward) idea !
