  1. Carl Frampton put on an excellent display against formidable Kiko Martinez last night, to win the European Super Bantamweight title. TKO in 2nd half of bout (a short right that dropped Kiko, causing him trouble in standing up straight afterwards). Martinez caught Frampton several times during the contest which hurt him (though Carl denies he was hurt), so he needs to look at his defence. Managed by Barry McGuigan, he's under excellent tutelage. Check the fight on YouTube, it'd a cracker. Frampton looks a really accomplished boxer but he's only had I think about 15-16 fights. Scott Quigg might be next for him (the guy that beat Rendall Munroe with body shots in R2/3 recently). One to watch in next coupla years maybe.
  2. If you recognise the name of this shop, hopefully you had the same memory thrill as I ! I think it closed in the late 1980s/early 90s. I dressed solely from there for 5 or 6 years because it was soooo cheap and I was broke as. Almost entirely Goodwill Store kinda surplus plus huge job lots of old denim, yards of racks of dungarees, ridiculously coloured socks, workmen's/women's shirts (with logos emblazoned - my short sleeved work shirt read "Del's Wrecking" across the back), Hawaiian shirts (not for me), old boots, old baseball outfits, zoot suits, 50s/60s formal wear, seriously funky ties, the list goes on. Two big floors rammed to the gills with 'vintage' as we call it now. Today it would be an absolute gold mine full of folks with too much money, then it was just for broke people and those sick of the High St options. Anyone remember it ? Used to buy there ?!
  3. Khans again, and Rye Lane in general. Khans has 3x tins chick peas for ?1, I think same with chopped tomatoes, that's not bad - and their fruit/veg cheaper than Sainsburys (but then what isn't !).
  4. Why did you pay 30 ?
  5. who, circumstances, DETAIL !!
  6. come on spill it, you are such a tease, it really is unbearable.
  7. Mic Mac: "They were ripped down within a day of going up. A guilty dog owner did not like them much I guess." probably that goose green militant poster ripper-downer.
  8. can you post on his wall that he is stalking you and it makes you feel uncomfortable and you want him to stop ?
  9. who the F*ck seriously wears pyjamas ? are all the posters like 8 or 9 years old ? Loving the idea of going out and getting pissed and when you get home, what do you do ? carry on drinking ? roll a fat one ? piss in the wardrobe ? NO !! put on your pyjamas... Give me a break.
  10. what was it and who sold it to you ?
  11. I think anti-social behavourial convictions should be considered before issuing a licence.
  12. susiq: " it would be a good idea if the owners had to have the dog chipped and inoculated before a license was granted, this might go some way in deterring irresponsible people from getting a dog in the first place". No this would not work. To inoculate and chip a dog you probably need to own it. Why would someone buy a dog, chip it, inoculate it, then apply for a licence ? Shouldn't ownership of a licence be the starting event for this chain of follow-on chain of activities ?
  13. i think one or two of the blocks are advertising (soon to be ex-council) flats for sale. overpriced considering the dimensions and especially the layouts form what I've seen.
  14. Bligh is buried in a church yard in Alverstoke, Gosport, lovely little graveyard.
  15. the denmark hill 0737 train came 4 mins late and 4 carriages short, the latter causing some fluster amongst passengers.
  16. i shred, then burn, then dissolve the ashes in acid.
  17. boil-up some chicken stock. then use it for some soup later this week (or freeze the stock until you decide what to make with it).
  18. Yeah blackbird is a reasonable cafe, nice tarts.
  19. Not sure if anyone's mentioned Silk Road on this thread yet - but went there last night for first time in ages. ?22.50 for 2x diners including a beer each, rice, home style cabbage, twice-fried pork, dumplings. Place was packed. Great meal. Also walked around looking for Wuli Wuli, which many people seem to recommend on EDF, found it (was empty) so will try that next month.
  20. JohnL: "I thought Racist crimes jumped to the top of the list and HAD to be investigated. " Maybe it's racism against a white, in which case it's unlikely anyone gives a shit.
  21. got 2x cats. looking for 2x more. Catz Roolz.
  22. Hey PR my inbox now has space - please enlighteneth me..
  23. if you've got a compass and stand near the house you can work it out. basically if youre stood on Lacon Road, the sun comes form Crystal Palace Rd side and heads over to Lordship lane side, it's leaning in sky towards North Cross Rd (if you're stood on Lacon). I have a West facing garden and based on my experience there you'll start getting shade in your garden from your house/next door's house around noon and your house will block out the sun after around 3-4pm in summer. This is approx stuff. I'd suggest knocking on some doors there or talking to the owner / person next door ?
  24. Many dressers split into the cupboard and shelved sections, I think this is what computed meant.
