  1. Couple of packs of crushed Ex-Lax in the milk should help sort this.
  2. Yeah but the problem isn?t vexing is it ? The problem is 66,000 dead, many 1000?s maimed, no cure, while people ignore safety advice. Much of which entirely avoidable by following really really simple guidance. Let?s say somehow we know how many people got infected in the market on Saturday, how many people they will go on to infect and so on down the chain of infection, how many will be injured or die as a result, the grief that will cause and families it will destroy - your advice is don?t vex over it ?
  3. Pride, hatred, resentment, and humiliation aside - we had a deal with the EU which was far better than anything we?ll ever get going forward. We did that to ourselves, knowingly and on purpose. Starting to hate England myself a bit too, now !
  4. No need to waste your time on a poster who?s set-up an account on EDF just to demonstrate their feelings of inadequacy by provoking people with rude posts ! millie7uk Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I dont growl at people either in or out of any > shops, even M&S, and as for "just dont do it" I > wasent doing it, I was concerned about safety and, > I will decide who and or what to be angry about, > your obviously one are of those who puts > themselves before others, of course you were > maskless and it may not be against the law but > responsibility plays a part as well, perhaps you > should make friends with that.
  5. I was very impressed with the pie van/stall at the East (inner) end of the market. Distanced queue, policed by the stall holder. Hand sanitizer and masks. Even telling customers to not stand in front of the stall eating their pies after purchase, but to move on and keep the pitch clear and safe for queuing customers. The stall holder seemed to be perpetually (and politely) ensuring these steps were being adhered to. But overall, yeah, the market the last 2 weeks has been a classic example of how to spread a virus during a pandemic.
  6. AlanmBarr - you're seriously saying one or more staff at William Rose butchers told an old lady she doesn't know what she's talking about, in those actual words ?
  7. malumbu - I posted on this thread because I saw a risk to health through going to busy places full of people taking a drug called alcohol in the midst of an increasingly infectious pandemic where currently increased restrictions are being considered (if not actually imposed - as Tier3 - today). I said why bother ? My first sentence in this post hopefully explains why I said that and now it all makes sense. Not as a wind-up or being disrespectful. But my question still stands = Why Bother ?
  8. No need to get all defensive about it and start throwing accusations around. You asked the question. While criticising people for advising caution around visiting pubs you also concede that pubs are probably responsible for some of the spread of the pandemic. So, people advising caution are picking on you while this spreading disease in pubs are cool - is that it ? Can?t work out what you?re trying to mean. So do you want an argument with yourself, or everyone else? At the moment it looks like you?re trying to do both! For me, go to the pub, drink your fill, fall about the place as merry as you want. You?ll just be part of the unknown statistic of virus spread via public houses. Free country, restrictions allow it, go for it!
  9. > The fundamental question to ask here is, what do > those pushing for Brexit really want and why. The gains are several. I know cos a caller on LBC said there were many. Firstly, ?we get to make our decisions?. Secondly, ?we will not have to answer to anyone?. Thirdly, ?we?ll control our own borders?. There were others, but I?m only able to retain and replay a limited amount of misguided waffle. Regardless, that millions of people in the U.K. believe and repeat this junk.
  10. Yep. Just set-up user immediately posting provocatively on multiple threads. Seen it all before. 🥱 rachp Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Pull the other one... hmmm, I remember another > xharming character on here who used that turn of > phrase, sounds very familiar...
  11. Traffic is worse than ever on Lordship Lane (based on last 30yrs anyway) so unfortunately you?ve picked the one time recent multiple road closures locally have concentrated traffic on LL. All. Day. Long. Good luck.
  12. Well, it?s a fair question. Isn?t it? Why bother, when there is a pandemic, increasing restrictions likely (i.e. Tiers), and malarkey in the pub around distancing / being served at the table / having to eat food to be served / early closing etcetera. I mean, literally, what is the point?! If it was drinking water, vitamins, air, or light, I could understand it. But for alcohol? Just go to the shop. malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KK rather than questioning me give your views wny > you wont be bothering. 13. Malumbu why bother ?!
  14. Izal. What a super blast-from-the-past. Fragranced, if I remember correctly. 15. Yeah it's fair advice Pugwash. I try to follow it, was out last night late between E&C and ED on foot and was itching for a browse. But just waited til home.
  16. Mainly because speed cameras generate revenue. There?s plenty of cctv, problem is it doesn?t stop this sort of behaviour and the culprits are disguised anyway.
  17. Thanks Sue, will pop my head in and ask them.
  18. /forum/read.php?5,2169958,2169970#msg-2169970 Check this, could be some efficiencies to be made between the two interests ?!
  19. Malumbu - mainly abstract panels and tiles in clay/glaze, but also plaster. Examples attached FYI:
  20. And here we have it ! Four years+ in, an oven-ready deal promised a couple of years ago, and we?re here guessing what the Govt is aiming for and what we?ll end-up with - with literally hours to go before discussions end. Absolutely shameful. And the shape of ?Brexit? seems to be down to personal belief nowadays !
  21. Yes, I think the republicans are so scared to do anything it speaks volumes for the culture of their party currently. However, there is a few outspoken republicans though I'm not sure they have a forum. One thing I've seen is The Lincoln Project (republicans) adverts/clips denouncing Trump and his actions, Kushner, Ivanka, and other filthy players in this sick game. Wiki:" The Lincoln Project Named after Abraham Lincoln Founded December 17, 2019 The Lincoln Project is an American political action committee formed in late 2019 by a number of Republicans and former Republicans. During the 2020 presidential election, it aimed to prevent the re-election of Donald Trump and defeat all Republicans in close races running for re-election in the United States Senate.[2][3][4] In April 2020, the committee announced its endorsement of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden,[5] who went on to win the election."
  22. Last year when dark I stopped a young guy on a bike on the pavement by the old fried chicken shop/ bus stop next to MeatLiquor. He was wearing a balaclava and the road (LL) was not quiet enough to warrant cycling on the pavement, especially for a guy big enough and ugly enough to wear a balaclava. I pulled it off his head as he went past me and my dog and told him to stop trying to intimidate people going about their own business. He was casing (along with a couple of cohorts) the pavements for prey. Probably never done a day's honest work - arsehole !
  23. No more imaginary than Trump?s massive win in the US election, or the oven-ready Brexit deal !
  24. Ha ha, no. You can?t pin pictures to an imaginary tree !
  25. I watched Trump?s ?Victory Rally? in the early hours. What a depressing experience. Why are the Republicans not denouncing this ?! America seems lost of their leader can voted out, refuse to leave, deny the election outcome, spread unrest amongst his supporters, disable the democratic process and self-enrich at will, repeatedly (let alone self-pardon !).
