  1. Yes, we're planning to eat - the food is good! Looking forward to seeing you all later.
  2. Has anyone had the Anti-D jab? Does it hurt?! I've got mine tomorrow but still have fairly sore arms from a whooping cough and flu jab double whammy on Monday!
  3. Andrea, sorry to hear your sad news. I'm sure we can sneak another date in pre-Christmas... And roll on the pre-baby element of maternity leave - I might even make it past 9.30pm if there's a January evening meet up!
  4. I am having my first baby in January and I have seen recommended in a few places (and by a few friends) getting a Slumber Bear. Has anyone found them useful? I am obviously all for anything which might help to settle the baby, my main objection is that they look a bit sinister to me!!
  5. There's a thread on here called the Autumn Babies Club for 2012 - you'll find lots of mums with children the same age as yours on there!
  6. I really enjoyed it too, good to meet some more of you and thanks Tess for organising - good pub pick! I'd vote for meeting there again... We might need to add our EDF names to Dainee's contacts list, I am just about retaining everyone's names who I've met so far and then this thread makes everyone anonymous again!
  7. Thanks for the confirmation Tess. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again/meeting others I didn't get to chat to last time - my bump has definitely expanded since The Actress!!
  8. Magkath we're going to ante-natal classes run by Ariadna Sole instead of NCT. Similar thing but Ariadna is a midwife. She's posted about her courses on here so if you search her name it should come up. On the flu jabs my midwife told me at my last visit that I should definitely have it. I thought that mercury had been removed from most UK flu vaccines for 2011/12 onwards, although I may be wrong. The NHS guidelines tell practitioners to consider the "Summary of Product Characteristics" of a particular vaccine for particular patients so I would hope that those containing mercury are not offered to pregnant ladies but worth discussing with your nurse before having the jab.
  9. Really good to meet some of you ladies last night - Thanks Dainee for organising and for having the foresight to think about a contacts list! Hopefully see you all and your bumps again soon before the babies start popping out, and then lots afterwards. Roll on maternity leave... Sonya
  10. I am hoping to come but it may not be until half 8/9pm. My husband is away for work so will be flying solo!
  11. Sofie has moved (to Hong Kong I think) and the classes at the Mag are now being run by Ariadna Sole. She posted about her course recently on here so search her name (I don't know how to add links, sorry!). We're signed up for the Oct/Nov courses. Edited to see if I can add a link: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?25,956548,956548#msg-956548 If not, it's in the Family Classifieds section 9 Sept 10.35pm!
  12. I was wrong - found out at last night's scan that it's a girl! I was convinced it was a boy based on no morning sickness... Should have known better really given that my brother and my two cousins all have two girls each so ours will be Girl No. 7 on that side of the family, I'm obviously not bucking the trend!
  13. I have my 20 week scan on Monday which is exciting but I'm also quite nervous. And it's not until 6.45pm so I'll have to worry about it all day too!! My guess so far is it's a boy so we shall see if I'm right or not...
  14. Oh yes, I had forgotten about waiting for the test results (it was only 6 weeks ago, my memory's gone already!) so up to 2 hours for the 12 week scan in total.
  15. When I had my booking in appointment there a couple of months ago it was a blood test, urine test, weight and height measurements and then a history chat to fill in their paperwork. No scan. The whole process took about an hour BUT I had to wait an hour past my appointment time before I was seen so the whole process was about 2 hours. My appt was at 10am so would hate to think of the wait if I'd been later in the day! The 12 week scan (which was in the main hospital) was shorter, maybe half an hour or 45 mins but the baby was being a bit difficult in terms of positions for their measurements. My 16 week midwife appointment was at my doctor's surgery and took about 10 mins. Good luck!
  16. Good work Dainee - I will try and come too (but my husband is not sitting next to Regi's if there are labour horror stories to be told!! ;o) )
  17. Hi Minnelli, It's good to hear your very positive feedback on Ariadna as we have just signed up for her course in Oct/Nov! I also found out from my midwife last week that Ariadna works as a King's midwife as well as running the courses so it will be good to have someone with insider knowledge helping us I think! It's my first so I am excited and terrified in equal measures. Really looking forward to meeting some of you ladies and your bumps/babies.
  18. Hi Bursty, I don't think a few days here or there matters and who knows when any of the winter babies will actually turn up so welcome! You'll be the expert by the time some of us have our babies... ;o)
  19. I think that the main thing to do is to not overthink it! :o) Whichever way you go will work out and obviously we have the lovely EDF to make new friends on anyway (hopefully!!)
  20. Ramble we looking at a 6 week course similar to NCT but run by an independent midwife. Do you know how much NCT classes are? This course is ?235 so I'm not sure if it's any cheaper. It's more convenient for us than the NCT classes I've seen as it's held upstairs at the Mag. If you want further details then please feel free to PM me.
  21. I know, it's like a little alien! I'm still finding it all a bit surreal to be honest. I think I need a bump to start to appear...
  22. I am excited that I can finally join this thread - had my 12 week scan earlier today! It's my first and due on 21 January so a bit behind most of you ladies. Ramble, I am thinking of a water birth too if possible although I'm not brave enough to do it at home. I think at Kings as it's the hospital most local to me. Still, a very long way to go yet!
