I assumed Jimmy TT was making a gag with racket... Might be completely off the mark though! -
Lack of sleep in ED (fox noises again)
Sonners replied to Miss P's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Foxes can be pretty problematic for some people. We had a mother and 8 cubs living under our decking and they wrecked our fences, plants, veg etc and covered the garden in horrible poo! Anyway, several thousand pounds later after a garden make over to get rid of the decking (once the cubs were big enough to leave)and fix everything they are thankfully gone. They are very cute but I am looking forward to hopefully only seeing them in the street from now on! -

Just a word of warning to anyone who had a leaflet through their letterbox yesterday for a clothing collection this Thursday that this is a collection by a private company (RA & B Services Ltd) and not by a charity. I nearly put a load of clothes out for them before I realised but would prefer that my donations went to a charity. Others may not mind but thought I'd flag the issue in case you do!

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
Sonners replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Ant Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Still no sign of any resurfacing on Landells > Road... Ant, I think that they were supposed to start Landells today after working on Pellatt Road from Friday, over the weekend, and finishing yesterday. Given that they only put out the no parking signs on Pellatt yesterday to start work today I doubt that they will start on Landells until the end of the week at the earliest... -

best airport to get to from east dulwich
Sonners replied to sunskippy10's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not that quick but quite easy to get the Stanstead Express into Liverpool Street (45 mins), then bus to London Bridge (149 I think?) and then train to ED. -

A friend of the my husband's was one of the writers on Spooks for a few of the series and Rupert P-J was nick-named Rupert Pendulous-Jones for his rather manly attributes. Apparently he was often quick to suggest changes which were always "I think that this scene would be better if I was naked, don't you?"

Does anyone know if any of the hairdressers on/around the Lane sell KMS hair products? Thanks in advance for any replies.

6am bin collections - Friern Road and surrounding area
Sonners replied to Judy2's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The trouble is that whatever time of day they go past it's probably disturbing someone. Night workers would probably be disturbed if it was in the middle of the day, for example. At least you only have it once a week - we have the Royal Mail vans speeding down our road at 5am 5 days a week! But as the alternative would be to get double glazing or something we just live with it. Although I can recommend ear plugs - they make quite a difference! -
I'm not sure what a T Brown van is but if you know who the company are then surely they will have a log of which drivers were in your area at the time you were hit? Shouldn't take long for them to narrow down their list and speak to some of the drivers to find out who it was and discipline them for not stopping after an accident. Perhaps write a letter of complaint to the Managing Director?

Didn't he write a book about juxtaposed transvestites called "Transposition"? -

Try sitting a bit further back on the left on the new buses - I did this morning and enjoyed the footrest which I am also a fan of!

I was on a 40 last night about 6pm and it went to the library and I also got one from Blackwater Street this morning so think that the normal route is back in action.

Just came across this http://www.talkswindon.org/index.php?topic=3730.0 so looks like they are hard sell sales men that have moved on from Swindon.

Dave, I had the same thing last night but it was a young girl. I must admit I didn't think about it being someone casing the place although it is suspicious now that you mention it with them asking if they should call at night. I fortunately didn't answer that question because as soon as they asked for a phone number I said that I wasn't interested. I pointed out that I had their leaflet if I wanted work doen in the future at which point the girl said that there were no contact details on it and took it back! Seems very fishy indeed.

Lovely Ladies:A Question re: Your Future Husbands "ex"
Sonners replied to Tony.London Suburbs's topic in The Lounge
It may be that wife2 was fine with couples dinners prior to the wedding invite situation (although I am sure that TLS will expand) and will be fine after the wedding but is now not wanting to go to such a dinner at the moment because of the wedding invite brouhaha. I think it's entirely reasonable that she doesn't want wife1 at her wedding, I wouldn't have wanted an ex-wife at my wedding as who wants a reminder that their chap has done it all before with someone else etc, as indiepanda says. But equally, I would be fine having dinner with my husband's ex if he were still good friends with them and it was all long ago. -
We had a very good meal at Haozhan's a few months ago. I'd definitely go back.

any women with a career, own money and no kids in dulwich!?
Sonners replied to angela2711's topic in The Lounge
indiepanda Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes but we're at work during the day, so you won't > see us in the coffee shops. Very good point by indiepanda. Perhaps you should look in bars in the evening when trying to assess where the childless women are?
