  1. Moved to the Lounge as it is a more a political debate than about specific ED issues. I will be keeping an eye on these types of posts in the run up to the election as I do not want the forum (especially the ED Issues section) used for electioneering however I understand that The Chair will be holding political debates in The Drawing Room.
  2. Hi *Anna*, it was not a case of me "knowing better", you simply never mentioned the traffic problems in your post, just a request to know information about an accident in Herne Hill. [added] You did mention you were diverted whilst driving but not that the bus routes were a complete mess.
  3. Apologies if it annoyed you TonQuinn but, as mentioned via PM, your post "Lady Gaga tickets wanted" was not an East Dulwich specific issue and was therefore moved from the ED issues section and into the Wanted section. There was no discussion about transport or buses.
  4. It was moved to the Lounge because you are asking what else, apart from a 37 bus, was involved in an accident in Herne Hill. This is not considered East Dulwich specific.
  5. Two posts have been removed because, even though I have just asked people to stay on topic, they were off topic.
  6. I agree but I think he would also read a thread specifically about the crossing at Somerfield. This is a unique thread where a councillor is offering to help to people and their issues, I am just trying to keep it that way rather than it turn into a five page discussion about a specific subject.
  7. Please can we keep this on topic of "East Dulwich councillor - can I help?", if people want to continue discussing the crossing outside Somerfield please start a new thread.
  8. There is an ongoing police investigation into an incident on Cyrena Road. We have been advised that comments about it on the forum may hamper enquiries, therefore we politely request that people do not discuss it on the forum at present. Apologies to those whose messgages have been removed without warning but I have only just had time to write this message.

I am not suggesting that "any threads in favour are likely to be a 'set-up' or fake". I am stating that a company may ask its customers/clients to write a positive review about them eg "there have been some negative reviews about us on that there forum, you're a happy customer, please could you post about your experience?". There is no mention of fake posts, that is your incorrect assumption which then leads you to question my impartiality. And yes I do try to be impartial.
  10. When you have clicked the 'new' link or been to the page it refers to and then pressed the browsers back button it shows up as blue. I hope that answers your question.
  11. Hi It is preferred that people attach photos to posts rather than embed them into messages as that facility tends to get abused. What I have done is change the text above the text editing box from "Attach a file ..." to "Attach a file or photo ..." to make it a bit clearer for those who struggle. What other tips would be in the How to section? Tips on "everything" is a bit of a broad subject.
  12. Please remember that an organisation may ask customers/clients to write a positive review about them, especially if they are being given a hard time.
  13. When someone posts a message in the wrong section e.g "Builder wanted" in the ED Issues/gossip section I have to move it, I think that action sometimes causes an error in the system that makes the "new" not work sometimes, or be reset. So it is not you it is me. There are about 13,000 registered users and about 430,000 messages, the system that runs the forum has to know which threads are new for each of those users, which individual messages are new to each user and provide a link to the newest message for each post, that is quite a lot of database records. It is so big that we do not want to try and work out what the problem is because we may break it, so unfortunately it is a minor inconvenience that we are stuck with.
  14. Go for it. And thank you for asking for permission first, as my mother would say "oh haven't you been brought up well".
  15. No problem. I am trying not to let this forum become predominantly a place full of generalised grumbling whinging posts and so I adjust the titles to be more a bit more specific.
  16. Please stay on topic
  17. Moved this to the About the Forum section as the survey is mainly about the forum and not an ED issue.
  18. Please keep this about bicycle stands and not descend into a "that bloody council/those bloody potholes" thread again.
  19. See this post Missing Post In East Dulwich (Especially Lordship Lane) not strike related
  20. I am locking this thread brecause it was an announcement about resurfacing Court Lane in East Dulwich starting yesterday. If you would like your road resurfacing I recommend you contact the council or councillor directly.
  21. The above post was made by someone at Asquith Nurseries. Please read my post http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,427112 about fake recommendations.
  22. I was being serious, if someone is looking for an option, cannot find it and then asks where it is then I assume it because they wish to use it.
