  1. I don't think I could play Cluedo unless we were playing with littluns. Modern Art looks looks good.. might have to give that one a go.
  2. Is there a standard 'more questions' update for TP which isn't somehow themed, based on one decade, for children, or simply for idiots? Just a load more questions which are as good as the original ones?
  3. I'd definitely get Boggle (just the original 4x4 one is still the best). Best with more than 2 players though. For up to 7 players, a game called 'Gambit 7' is a really simple but great game if you're after something less 'eyes down' that doesn't last too long which is a bit more fun. The worst game we own is called 'Mindtrap'. Don't ever buy Mindtrap. It stinks.

  6. No probs, Jamma. I am trying to use a grown-up toilet but unfortunately my success rate is still only about 80%.
  7. Well, I suppose if you really are determined to spend a dozen occasions rinsing-out underpants caked in sh1t in the kitchen sink after a trip home from your relaxing day out in a car smelling of poo - all for the sake of ?13 - then you go for it.
  8. I know - CRAZY isn't it? The four people that especially bought The Telegraph were GOBSMACKED.
  9. Agree on the fireworks though. Cheap fireworks after 10 can only really be an irritation. Even when you're at the party.
  10. 2am? Jeez, that does sound completely mental.
  11. You're right to get away for a couple of weeks, Russ. This thing is gonna be BIG. It's gonna break like a storm and boy oh boy is it gonna shake things up. Watch out, world.

I expect the Beeb apply their usual 'audience balance' rules anyway - they do on most other shows. TG gets excellent ratings and does have a cross-sex appeal on paper, but a lot of that is down to cunning scheduling. Which isn't to say girls don't like it, it's just to say that a lot of girls probably wouldn't make an effort to watch it if it wasn't on when it was on with their other half being keen to see it.

I like the way they shove the five girls who turn-up to the studio audience filming to the front of the crowd - in desperate yet hopeless attempt to demonstrate cross-sex appeal.

  15. right on, sister
  16. Bog relocation a winner. There's something slightly more satisfying about having to go down a flight of stairs to take a leak - don't know why. The place is styled in an interesting fashion, it seemed slightly nautical - but not in a bad way. Had a good feel to it, though drinks on the house and full to capacity helped in that respect. Weird high backless bench bunk bum-perch seats in window are a bit duff. I saw Brooklyn Lager in the chiller which I'm quite partial to - and a smattering of other tempting bottles.
  17. You can't argue with free booze. Very generous. Think I spotted the Holy MacGabhann in there - resplendent in black - but he was surrounded by his entourage so alas we were not permitted to touch the hem of his garments. Thanks to The Actress for laying on the entertainment too. The absolutely bladdered well-known local trader kept us in stitches for much of the last hour.
  18. Well I suppose I could accept 616. Perhaps 333 is still available? After all, I am only a 'little devil'.
  19. 666, please. Yours diabolically, Damien.
  20. They might as well call a spade a spade and stick one of these up.
  21. I thought 'happy hours' were frowned-upon these days? One rule for one..

    problems with the old waterworks?
  23. The worst of these incidents are no laughing matter, but on a wider note Catholics seem (to me) to have often sported a good sense of humour about their own religion and Christianity in general. I remember the only proper churchgoing Catholic family we knew as a child taking the whole family en masse (ho ho) to see Life of Brian when it was weleased.. I mean, er, released. Which doesn't mean I don't think the world would be better-off without all such manner of medieval nonsense. Because I do.
