  1. 'The London Boys'.. ha ha. An undeniable fact about pop music combo's: A mix of girls and boys = (taken as a) straight act More than two boys = straight act Two boys who are related = straight act but Two boys who are not related = gay act. It's a music industry fact.
  2. I think we've actually come full-circle and are now on-topic again. We started with Liquorish's poor attempt and a veggie alternative, as opposed to G-Ram's, which does one of the finest (albeit with a bit of a price difference, ahem) When you go to Gordon Ramsay's, you don't actually, er, eat with him, you know. You just eat the food, like.
  3. .. and no funny business under the table.
  4. ok Louisa, but NO STARTER and you pay the cab fare home
  5. Ahh.. mad Lizzie. Queen of the day-glo leotard / leggings combo. All I can remember is a perm and teeth. But then I was quite young.
  6. I wouldn't have thought splashing-out ?150/head on a few plates of nosh would be your thing, Louisa?!
  7. Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > "But I suppose you can't spill such beans, can > you?" > I can't I'm afraid although the stories may slip > out after you've bought me a drink or two Shriek! You mean - actual non-virtual contact? *whimper*
  8. I suggest replacing it with a plethora of independent shops selling selling expensive soft furnishings, knick-knacks and worthless ornamental goods. The need is great and the people of ED are hurtin', man.. they need a fix.
  9. Mark Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- Having had experience of libel threats, solicitors and police questioning over this forum That sounds juicy. But I suppose you can't spill such beans, can you?
  10. Affluent Veggies: Don't let the OTT bums-on-sofas 'personality' off the telly make you miss-out on the dining experience. GR's actually does a full-on vegetarian tasting menu, a delight to behold, by all accounts.
  11. Indeed. All the history I was taught is no doubt hopelessly out of date now. Not that I can remember any of it anyway.
  12. Of course, Amnesty is a pressure group, not a historical periodical..
  13. It's a perfectly good book for children - or adults who prefer a 'simple read', bless. Personally, I'm not much of 'a reader' (as Bill Hicks would say). I prefer films and music. My fave groups are 'Aqua' and 'Steps', and my fave film is 'The Goonies'.
  14. You've got to admire the publisher's pure zeal. I love the way they released a version with a 'grown-up cover'.. and people bought it. Hook, line and sinker.
  15. Now, now children.. stop this bickering or you shall be sent to your rooms with no tea. Keef see me
  16. I think it's called a 'negotiation' Harris say 1000, knowing it to be too big. Residents say 450, knowing it's too small. Eventual school ends-up somewhere in the middle. Probably exactly where Harris knew it would end-up anyway.
  17. DPF.. That would have been a more useful posting (for everyone) than your previous one. Histrionics don't help 'the undecided' make a decision!
  18. DPF.. what a superb example of exaggeration to the power of 10. 'village school' 'the few guaranteed to get a place' 'a handful of East Dulwich residents' How exactly would a school reduced down to a mere several hundred pupils constitute a 'village school'?
  19. Just to clarify.. This is 'Pretty Traditional' we're talking about here? Isn't the young fella in question the son of the owner? Sounds like a 'Clash of the Dads' incident to me. This thread is another 'EDD Egg Incident' in the making. Run for cover! I'm going to stay out of harm's way. We're off to the Lambeth Country Show to feel an owl or two.
  20. Well done to the Met!.. Another killer blow struck in the 'war on drugs'. Victory must surely be in sight now...
  21. Good for you, Clare. I suppose with the extra-large print it wouldn't have taken too long to get through.
  22. Harry Bloody Potter. Every time I see someone over the age of 12 reading one on the tube it makes me want to go on a murderous rampage with an Uzi.
  23. Perhaps Golden City is meant is a metaphor for the doomed chip shops of old, and The Sea Cow a metaphor for the current influx of shiny gastro-chippies. So whilst The Sea Cow was not directly responsible for the closure of Golden City, it could be argued that it is indeed the reason why the Golden City is no longer open. OR The journalist couldn't be arsed to check.
  24. Glad to be of assistance!
  25. Everyone's being far too nice. Ghosts?.. rubbish!
