  3. Though they're not in order of importance you understand.
  4. The test of time and remembrance to some extent will be dictated by the media that drives how the the music is heard. But as for how we come to be where we are now in pop music I'm fancying my three 'B's theory. Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Berry Gordy.

Come on Quids and Jeremy, let's find some common ground. Both of you come and join me in my Clash dream. It was in black and white and on a street corner in New York City, never been there so don't know which one. There was Joe Strummer, Mick Jones and Topper Headon and from my point of view me. So I'd given myself the Paul Simonon role in this dream, 25 years ago I'd've given him a run, but truthfully he's aged better. Anyway, we formed a circle, put our arms around each other and touched heads. Joe said 'This is the last time The Clash will ever stand together', and we all held on to each other as the city carried on around us. I woke up, I'd been sleeeping on my back and tears were running out of the corners of my eyes, I had tears in my ears. Never had a dream like it since, but perhaps once is enough. As well, Mott The Hoople are reforming for some shows in October, now that's a dream come true. Thanks to you both for bringing together Mott The Hoople and The Clash, not that they were ever too far away in lots of ways, Mick Jones, Guy Stevens, Bill Price and the roots of punk rock etc. Anyway, shake hands and do a version of All The Yound Dudes. Then slam into the single version of White Riot and pogo together lovingly. There, that's better.
  8. Gran Torino is probably going to be Clint's last film in front of the camera, so go for that.

Crikey Mark it gets worse , first Beelzeebub now George Bush, next you'll be telling me Andrew Castle just walked in. I suggest you lob holy water balloons at them and take sanctuary in a church. Or a pub, whichever's nearer.

I suggest you spend some time on the repentance step.
  15. Bring Me Sunshine - Morecambe And Wise
  16. Although I had a thought and googled one of the groups and there is one called The Crying Shames, so on that occasion it was just the song I made up. I'm just getting my plea of mitigation in early, in case there's an enquiry.
  17. Of course Giggi. On two occasions I've invented a song and a group but obviously not this one. Why did I do it? The Devil told me to and as we know he has all the best tunes so... HUGS
  18. Drinking Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee - The Pirates
  19. 99 Red Ballons - Nena
  20. So let's just follow on from Road To Birmingham - Mott The Hoople
  21. It doesn't Attilla, it follows on from Born To Run the one prior to Born Free, but I started to type it and just started thinking about something, before I knew it I had lapsed into a brown study and was oblivious to everything, even the umportant things like the Song Game. I was probably still slightly under the influence of said brown study when I posted. Still there we are.
  22. Road To Birmingham - Mott The Hoople
  23. Nowhere To Run - Martha Reeves & The Vandellas

It gets mentioned more that once Quids, I remember reading that when Wodehouse was setting something in the suburbs he always based it on ED.
  25. Your source is impeccable Charlies, it's close but in this case Wodehouse trumps Dury. I stand corrected.
