After 1st round of > voting: > > Harman - 72 > Sir Lindsay Hoyle - 211 > Dame Eleanor Laing - 113 > Chris Bryant - 98 > Rosie Winterton - 46 LOL - yes he won after 4 rounds with Chris Bryant in the run off and the reaction seems to be a range from 'Great' thorough 'He's a nice guy' to 'Tory stooge' (He's Labour by the way). I don't think he will be as theatrical (or as fun to watch) as Bercow. Lots of comments I've heard on Harman I won't repeat here - she's definitely not popular with some people.

  4. "Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons issue urgent recall for hummus over 'deadly salmonella scare" "The first recall covered expiration dates up to November 7th, but it's now been extended a further 10 years." Looks bad - but Heart Radio went a bit overboard (I think they mean 10 days) https://www.heart.co.uk/lifestyle/food-drink/lidl-aldi-asda-sainsburys-morrisons-hummus-recall/

By "prompt you to use the pin" you mean they decline you and after one or two panics you realise it is part of the system. lol. I'd rather that than risk of fraud however. My contactless transactions also sit in "pending" for a while so that fits.

In my case once someone followed the postman around pulling bank letters back that hadn't been pushed completely through - not sure how he got into our block. If parcels are left outside there must be a chance they'll be taken

There are non force fed Foie Gras methods - which is why the ban is delayed hoping farms can change their model. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/30/nyregion/foie-gras-ban-nyc.html?action=click&module=Well&pgtype=Homepage&section=Food

Anyone who thinks John Bercow was a terrible Speaker should read Martin Shipton's biography of George Thomas (Viscount Tonypandy) https://www.iwa.wales/click/2017/10/the-political-chameleon/

Monday should be the new Speaker election - wouldn't be surprised if Harriet Harman has been canvassing quietly (saw an interview with her on Sky where she seemed very confident). Means my vote wouldn't matter if Peckham is uncontested.

Election, Eu citizens voting, 16-17 year old voting it's all kicking off. Everyone saying boris looks knackered.
  19. It's part of worldpay - maybe it's the businesses using it that are the issue. I'd complain to them and then to worldpay https://www.worldpay.com/en-gb/contact-us-uk-complaints
  20. normally they get down don't they - could they suddenly lose their nerve - I remember ours climbing up the house to the roof chasing a seagull - never thought about how it got down.

Cummings has a major operation in early November apparently which is why his contract only ran to 31 October.
