  1. 'In an interview with German newspaper Die Welt, (Brandon) Lewis said EU citizens living in the UK risk being deported if they fail to apply for the scheme by the end of 2020. "If EU citizens have not registered by then without an adequate justification, the immigration rules will apply," he said. ' followed closely by 'Lewis said on Twitter that his words had been taken "somewhat taken out of context," while a Home Office spokesperson said EU citizens who miss the 2020 deadline will be given "further opportunity" to apply.'

rumour that any labour MP voting for a Boris deal will get de-selected.
  3. protesters don't stop people getting to work in London - you just go around them or take an alternative route - late and cancelled trains are a bigger problem. the biggest problem for holidaymakers this year were the drones that didn't exist.

That's rather cruel. Pensioners and others who can't keep up do need to be looked after until GenY and GenZ take over the world.

They sometimes don't seem to trust younger people - I was refused a rebate many years ago on the premise I wasn't careful enough with my pin - I gave up in the end as it wasn't much. More recently (2 years ago) someone took ?4K from over the counter at a branch a month after I had my card stolen and cancelled - I couldn't do that with a valid card if I tried - the bank refunded it the moment I called - totally different attitude to when I was younger. Then had a scammer targeting my account and (I think) my mail for 3 months and almost got to know people in the fraud department by name :(. Some of the scammers must be pretty persuasive and have multiple contacts.

I lost my debit card once, took ?100 out and felt like a child all week (and ended up putting things on credit card).

That's a pity as police should use reports such as this to built up a picture of what is happening (maybe that's what the algorithms try and do - I know nothing of Police systems). Anyway no doubt Pritti Patel is coming for them (or maybe not).

It was a holiday for them! I don't protest in this way (more like a low level constant moan) but I'm not walking from Holborn to Peckham Rye and still rather scared of cycling in London :) I use public transport for everything except the big grocery shop - my car has the record for the lowest yearly mileage at Kwik Fit I was told (33 miles) and I've flown 6 times (3 out 3 back) in 20 years. There are many like me I think that aren't completely environmentally friendly but not huge users either.
  9. Lots of complaints on twitter from people that should get settled status being given pre-settled status. Not sure why but I'd be very clear on the form and maybe get help filling it in.

I don't think they'd tell you this just as if you've had money fraudulently taken from your bank account they won't tell you much about what happened.
  11. I like cashless but .... "During economic downturns, governments face challenges stimulating the economy by lowering interest rates, since people are likely to hoard their cash instead. This means governments and central banks have limited power, also known as the zero lower bound theory. However, with digital payments and no cash, people would be unable to withdraw money from the financial system, meaning governments and banks could leverage greater control of the economy through monetary policy. Specifically, the implementation of a negative interest rate during economic downturns could be brought in, whereby people would pay banks to store their deposits, instead of earning interest on those deposits. This aims to stimulate more lending from banks and increased investment by businesses, as well as encouraging people to invest, lend and spend instead of amassing money." https://www.forbes.com/sites/vishalmarria/2018/12/21/what-a-cashless-society-could-mean-for-the-future/#35ea118a3263
  12. imasnookercue (queue :) ) is mixing it up in my experience. You don't see queues in supermarkets to pay cash although I have stood around waiting for someone to go through 5 or 10 collected vouchers, you used to see long queues in the banks in Rye Lane to deposit cash but even that is changing.
  13. It will be decided if Scotland v Japan will go ahead on Sunday morning. Welsh team for Uruguay announced - we might have forwards playing in the backs at the end :).

So whats going to be in the Queens speech next week and should it be voted down ?. Just wondering if a pledge is made in the Queens speech to ask for an extension or alternatively NOT to ask for an extension what should remainers hope for and if the Queens speech is voted down is that automatically an election ?.

Most bar staff are pressing no tip before they give it to you at present.

It's a bit unfortunate if blame is apportioned - they spread by ways optimised through many years of evolution. Edit: of course they could have been created - but what kind of God would create bed bugs.
