  2. I'd much more likely cycle more if I could keep off the roads - maybe I'm still scared of London traffic after 9 years :) I watched pedestrians/cycles/cars/lorries in Holbor as I walked into work today - even the pedestrians are knocking into each other now - the cycles are watching out for cars and pedestrians so cycling looks a nightmare, driving is scary too and there are always roadworks to add to the mix. If people don't push no-one lets them out either. 3. Bet it was packed trendy feel to Rye Lane on Saturday. again :) PN33 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Completely depends what you want. 4. Just that I remember a long time ago getting no response from the police and it turned out they had an undercover operation going on. It would be unlikely, I suppose - but I'd like to think something happens behind the scenes fluffy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why would Trident deal with this? 5. Is it always necessary to apportion blame though ? Can't we look how the situation might be avoided through design. henryb Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Again that would have also been the fault of the > driver. 6. Is the building exterior being made nice looking (noticed the scaffolding) jeans/chinos I actually complained in GAP that they don't sell anything other than skinny/slim - where's the straight/loose fits.
  7. Maybe Trident deals with this and the local police don't ? is Trident still around ? honeybee79 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am horrified that the Police didn't consider it > significant enough to pursue. 8. Would Starbucks be a franchise And therefore a local shop with just a big name. Nero's is always jam packed !!!
  9. Agree - there must still be people who are 'known to the police' It's just politically incorrect for them to state it - but it will be true. pps Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > having something ready would only put you in > trouble ,its called intent, ... the police should > look at the cctv ,it sounds like this pond life > has done it before .if he is clearly on the cctv > then they could show it to other people that have > reported the same or worse ,they might id him , > christ its not rocket science is it ..... what > colour was the bike?was he black or white , teen > or older .cuts or not the police have to respond > to any call they recieve.

    GP Charges

The GPs say they are tied in. Argument ongoing between DoH and BMA - but the DoH has banned them. http://www.gponline.com/News/article/1119156/BMA-disputes-DH-guidance-premium-rate-practice-phone-numbers/ I'd email them the guidance leaflet - there's a link to it - and ask for call backs. They have had a year and a half.
  12. I heard that oyster will be replaced by bankcards/smartphone app or a bankcard tech type of oyster for those with no bankcard or smartphone by the end of this year
  13. It always ended up as about 70% - but in our board (WJEC) it definitely moved around. Nobody really knew how it worked - but I was always told they expected the same statistical distribution of marks - and that depending where the 'peak' was they could adjust the grade boundaries (assuming the exam was easier/harder and students the same) Edit: so,yes, if you got a good year - you were unlucky. 14. I'd rather on the spot fines than naming & shaming which I still feel uneasy about. How in this instance?
  15. Don't know how it works now but a few years ago the police would have known the guy from being on the beat or from previous (these people tend to repeat what they do) - so he would have had a visit next day. Maybe they still do - but don't tell us ?
  16. In the light of day, after the event, it is. Public order probably..but at the time it happened..a girl, on their own feeling, threatened in the night would get some sort of response, I'd think. Even if it turned out to be just a stupid young boy. EDOliver Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > What crime is that then? 17. They take debit cards now - so I don't mind for general use - is it going to be Oyster/Debit cards only ? What about an emergency when you give someone ?2 to get home - say someone is mugged and loses their wallet/purse ?
  18. There was no standard passmark in those days, it was done by percentages, so you were competing against your fellow student. I heard a headmaster saying recently that to do that now would not reward teachers/students, but is that the point? Why exactly do we grade ? what does society get out of grading students at school ? 19. I had to Google map it - just down Bellenden road from the Vic Inn. It could be popular :) Jeremy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Peckham. Just google it...
  20. Drunkards are not normally malicious, just drunk, but the malicious person would be much more sneaky with the 'character assassination' thing if it happened. I think we have to make your own mind up - drawing inferences from many comments (the real cowboys are usually self evident). I've seen some forums with more aggressive virtual locals as well
  21. I saw an advertisement in the Montpelier for raising cash for a new Peckham magazine.
  22. Is there a line marking issue ? The issue at the bottom of Rye Lane was sorted after a lot of people complained on here. Very obvious dotted lines showing the progression of the road and clear markings where not to go. Easy.

    Shale gas

The ITER project continues @ t -25 years odd :( LENR is still alive, but not in the mainstream - I'd love it if something came of this. polla2256 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I've made my mind up - fracking is not the future. > It will cause issues and I want fusion NOW. > Imagine if the UK ploughed the money earmarked for > HS2 into fusion.
  25. The DV level of security clearance checks bank accounts and requires changes reported I think. So the security officer would have asked for an explanation.
