If people expect you to answer emails at all times then they also must expect you never to be drunk :) The etiquette seems to be if you're offline on Skype/Teams and not on call - go to servicedesk or send an email and it'll be checked when appropriate - if there's 10 missed calls you get a hint it's a big issue. Note: lots of firms have managers being always on call for emergencies for no extra pay - that's a downside of being a manager. -
There is talk across the world of the 15 minute city - where you can walk or cycle to everything you need. https://www.ft.com/content/c1a53744-90d5-4560-9e3f-17ce06aba69a

Vaccines bring far more benefit than danger - but there is obviously a small danger. Part of government and being a responsible person is weighing up risk - especially when there is risk whatever decision you take.

I know a few that have a single phone (some use their work phone for everything). You find out when people leave and ask to keep their work mobile number - I'd have no reason to do that - some do. -

They're opening the barriers at the bottom of Rye Lane every morning (I checked at 8) I assume for deliveries but also definitely scaffolders.

A lot of repeats of the following rumour on twitter which sounds like Cummings doesn't give a t@ss. If he cares so little about ballet what chance do any of you have (unless it's his favorite pastime) ? ?I have it on good authority that at a Zoom meeting about the future of the Arts with Downing Street, Cummings told Sam Mendes that he wasn't interested and that :"the f**king ballerinas can get to the back of the queue "

iPhone 8 at the moment and there is no way they can guarantee you'd have your own with freed up data so pretty standard in IT - especially with on call - unless we go back to pagers :). -
U Turns just make me think of Thatcher with her categorical refusal to ever u turn on anything (in public anyway). "You Turn if you want to The Ladies not for Turning"

My understanding was they were considering assessing the vulnerability of people over 50. Anyway 50 isn't old (he says hopefully)
-
The Prime Ministers spokesman was asked about over 50s "He also dismissed reports at the weekend that people over 50 might be asked to shield in the event of rising infections in the winter as inaccurate." https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/aug/03/english-pubs-likely-to-be-spared-new-covid-19-restrictions-no-10-says

When was the last time you saw an East Dulwich Councillor
JohnL replied to Abe_froeman's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Got to say I wouldn't recognise any of our Councillors unless they stated who they were as they entered wherever I am. -
Hmmm - we didn't do what we should have done somewhere along the line according to this, or maybe it's just UK culture, or is it something in the stats of testing. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

If you don't care you're probably breaking the insurance contract - you have to at least give some show of caring ?

I haven't been anywhere except Tesco to buy essentials (and that's just below my flat) since march. I love pubs usually but can't see the point of sitting alone on a table - may as well stay in and play ps4.

MSM is usually used a an acronym for Main Stream Media - like the newspapers and TV. MM could be an insult to the views of lots of us (Mutual M*stur**n) Basically she's saying "come on Sheeple the end is coming and you're all discussing the same things, you won't when the asteroid/revolution/rapture/race war happens" and Uncs share is just something from Sargon of Akkad ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Benjamin )

I suspect she meant reparations as there was a march in Brixton about that. There is an argument (as in the series "watchmen") for tax breaks but I'd think we'd be talking something more at the society or even world level.

There was a BLM march in Peckham Rye in June I think - one of the first in London - it was pretty well patrolled and held at the top of the Rye.
