  1. The minister in Paris just made a freudian slip "we are waiting for France and Germany to sort this out" He then asked if he could do it again as he got Britain and Germany mixed up. He was live so he just swept back his hair and carried on :)

    Flies

Getting an airflow is not easy mind you - I tried directing fans outwards last night with a little success (seemed to cool a bit). Thinking multiple fans now :)
  3. I love greek salad - just add some salt, pepper, vinegar and olive oil.
  4. Yes - saw them on twitter the day they did it - Not locals just chose Peckham - although one of them appeared to live close by. Posted videos. It would annoy me if I was shopping

    Flies

I'm lucky in that Rye Lane flies come in and go out again. Way to intelligent for a tiny piece of semi-life - sorry for the insult flies :)

They're old and we as a nation don't like the old doing things - it's not seemly. Imagine if those in care homes started to complain about their lot.
  7. We also all know money was promised to Nissan as Sunderland was so political - and of course the government denied it at the time https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/feb/04/government-letter-to-nissan-reveals-brexit-promise-to-carmarkers
  8. We nationalised British Steel and I hear we are thinking of nationalising Tata Steel (UK) - Port Talbot. We wouldn't allow those jobs to then go abroad. (nothing wrong with that as a country needs steel) https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-tata-steel-floats-plan-for-government-to-take-900m-port-talbot-stake-12036038 There isn't much difference between carrot (large investment) and stick (punitive taxes) here ?

This housemate doesn't exist don'tbe it was you all along behind the mask.
  10. I suspect it is intended to be permanent
  11. I didn't realise that until today with Dawn Butler being accused of flipping hers by conspiracy theorists but no-one explaining why it was flipped. https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/iphone/flip-iphone-photo-3635062/
  12. Mind I thought everyone did this as students - I wasn't exactly radical and spent most evenings in the student bar :)
  13. seenbeen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > JohnL wrote...'We did that as students 30 years > ago ...' what you protested outside a cop shop > over a legitimate arrest? Really? I don't think so > somehow.... We went marching as students in central London - about keeping student grants I think - The leader of the student union got arrested and chucked his 'package' to those surrounding the van and everybody followed to the police station. Following to a police station is a standard thing to put pressure on them to release - a few did it on recent remainer marches (I wasn't there but followed Owen Jones twitter). I well remember a superintendent at Westminster bridge saying they'd call in the army before they allowed parliament to be marched on - I was 18 and thought it was a bit of fun.
  14. If you watch that american series where they live for 100 days in the Arctic - some of them live on squirrels and one licked the raw blood from one he killed whilst a little sign popped up on screen "drinking animal blood could infect you with bacteria that may cause infection"

I think that description fits the guy who tagged the undertakers opposite me. Only wall that's cleaned up regularly on Rye Lane. His girlfriend waited patiently further down the road.

The only difference is it's BLM here not middle class students.

  18. Some brought in the 70s and 80s when prices were much lower (not me - I only own a share of my flat but in London I'm grateful for that) But on CCTV - Up in Rye Lane we have a security guard on Tescos door.
  19. BoE looks at money not political/social things. Chancellor has already tried to address this with bonus for companies keeping staff on until Xmas - but ?1000 is not going to change the mind of bosses.
  20. Everybody being made redundant at the same time (October) could cause unrest and riots. I'd sort of space it out a bit if I was the Chancellor.

  22. Does anybody know much about this and the costs to leaseholders. As well as possible huge payments for cladding replacement for some it looks like leaseholders may have to pay an extra service charge for building safety and cough up if the builder/government created faults whilst building. At the same time I'm seeing talk of removing leasehold status and replacing with commonhold status which is sort of contadictory. I find Robert Jenrick rather difficult to follow :) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/draft-building-safety-bill
  23. Just a thought.. If your clients use your personal number won't you be more likely to take them with you if you left.

Spartacus Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > eddeal1 Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > yes more than one time > > > Sounds like you want / need to talk about it Seriously talking helps - as phones and money can be replaced, banks ALWAYS refund in these circumstances - but you're left feeling a little helpless and if you got angry and upset worried about getting angry and upset.
